Louis and Niklas of Ocafi bring the fresh main crop and - with luck - a few early microlots. Around ten cups will be on the table to smell and slurp. Louis and Niklas will explain how weather, harvest and price shape each other and answer any questions you might have about the biggest coffee producing region of the world.

Ocafi „grow, source and select coffee from Brazil and ship them across the globe to roasteries that understand that quality and ethics can exist hand in hand“. At PASSENGER we are happy to work with Ocafi for many years and to share their knowledge and sustainable approach to a wider aufience this Wednesday.

LITTLE FARMS x PASSENGER

Great to see you all mingle at the Little Farms Uganda cupping littlefarms_coffee

How nice to see Roasters, Traders, Producers, Café Owners, Baristi and a number of Passengers daily customers coming together and have an exchange over coffee.

The presence of producers Grace and Tom rounded up the cupping session of fine robusta and arabica coffees that showcased the wide variety and high quality of Ugandan coffees.

LITTLE FARM x PASSENGER
𝐔𝐆𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐀 𝐱 𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐘

The Little Farms Project littlefarms_coffee started in Uganda and runs today out of Bamberg, working with smallholder producers around Nakasongola.

This month they’re coming to us! Save the date:
SEPTEMBER 16TH, 16:30 AT REUTERSTR. 52 ✨

We'll cup a number of coffees from producers from the project. Side by side — the same way we taste every coffee before it makes it into your cup. Tom , who heads Little Farms, will explain how the project actually works: who grows what exactly, how the coffee is bought and traded and what changes for a farm that operates this way?

One of the producers — Grace Kwach Kermundu from Polla Mixed Farm — is travelling from Uganda to be in the room with us. That last part took some effort and we are happy to have her for this special afternoon. Twenty farmers from the project applied for visas to come to Germany. Sadly only one was granted.

Those who unfortunately can’t be in Berlin in person will be represented through their excellent coffees.

No prior knowledge is needed. If you’ve never cupped before, we’ll walk you through. If you taste for a living, there’ll be plenty on the table worth your time シ

𝐋𝐚 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐚 𝐒𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 (Mascota, Jalisco) — 100% Maximiliana raicilla, cooked above ground, wild fermentation. Papaya, avocado, bracing acidity. 43.1%
