A new landmark for Prague.
CMCA was selected to collaborate with OCA Barcelona on the design of the New Exhibition Hall at the Prague Congress Centre. Conceived as a bridge-like structure, the building hovers above a new public plaza, creating a bold dialogue with the existing Brutalist architecture.
Elevated on distinctive V-shaped columns, the multifunctional venue is designed to host congresses, exhibitions, cultural events, music, and art, while seamlessly connecting to the existing complex.
A project where architecture, engineering, and urban space come together to shape a new destination for Prague.

Ročenka Česká architektura je nejdéle vycházející knihou o současné české architektuře. Editorem dalšího vydání bude David Richard Chisholm, který se ujme výběru staveb do 26. ročníku.

Skvělé setkání v historické budově Invalidovny svedlo na jedno pódium Davida Richarda Chisholma s Danielem Libeskindem, který byl kmotrem letošní edice. Na pódiu se potkali i zakladatelé projektu: Eva Jiřičná, Jiří Kejval a Martin Kulík. A také letošní autoři: architekt Jan Schindler (Schindler Seko architekti) a Radek Váňa (ARCHIZOOM).

Teď začíná roční práce s vydavatelstvím ARCHIZOOM, které knihu, výstavu a celou kampaň připravuje. Máme velkou radost, že v roce třicátého výročí CMC ARCHITECTS se editace prestižní ročenky ujímá právě David Richard Chisholm, jako první americký architekt v její historii.

SIDE

CMCA+UPSTRUCTURE won an invited competition to design a three-block urban community for UDI.

The SIDE in Smichov is part of a continuum of Prague's urban morphology, however, redefining former BROWNFIELD zones as new extensions of the city on the Left Bank of the Vltava River. We were inspired by the power of Smichov's industrial history and its shining moments, which are ever-present, and still seed our creative thinking as architects. The approach to the SIDE was about simple, timeless elegance contrasted with spirited character and color, bringing IDENTITY to a new living quarter for over 2,500 people here near the river in Prague's chic Smichov District.

We invented here at the SIDE a city within the City, with a special skyline and roof landscape, which gives it strong visual character. Our intention was to frame views with connection and meaning in the immediate context of the SIDE, and our motto is just to '...live by the River', and to be anchored in a place where poetic history inspired architectural quality and a tactile urban space.
