🌙 Goodnight from Herbal Tease

Tonight’s cup is a Quiet Mind Tea — soft, floral, a little lemony and perfect for winding down.

🌿 2 parts lemon balm
🌼 1 part chamomile
💜 1 part lavender
🌹 ½ part rose petals

Use about 1–2 teaspoons of the blend per cup, pour over hot water, cover and steep for about 7–10 minutes. Add a little honey if you like.

Lemon balm and chamomile have long histories of traditional use for relaxation, while lavender and rose make this one smell almost as lovely as it tastes.

No fixing tomorrow tonight.
No solving the world’s problems from bed.
Just tea, quiet, and sleep. 🌙💕

Well LOOK who wandered into Herbal Tease today! 🐛

Anybody know what this fuzzy little ( it’s actually quite large for a caterpillar ) 3/4 “ round and about 4” long )fellow is?

I think I know… but I’m going to let the butterfly, moth and creepy-crawly experts have at it first.

Shoulda stayed in bed 🤪 it is currently 6 degrees !! It was 1 degree when I got up and went outside that 1 degree is 24 American 😲

It’s all good . Hubby had my coffee and the wood stove going in the shop .

Gooood morrrrning !!!

Saturday morning , I really thought I would be able to sleep in ,,
Well I woke up to Pepper licking my toes !! Ick ! I really can’t stand that 🤣🤣

Yanno this mutt LOOKS innocent and pretty but it’s all a ruse 🤪

She’s selfish and naughty,
Rambunctious and rowdy
Hardheaded and smart

When I want her to be quiet she barks
When I want to sit down she wants out
When I want her to go out she wants in
If , by chance , she does lay down when I tell her too , she talks back
She is always under my feet and she steals my tomato’s and veggies and apples from the trees and gardens . ( I’m glad she hasn’t discovered my grapes yet 🤪

She has to be the only water dog I’ve ever met who doesn’t like water . No bath, no swimming and she gets downright insulted if it rains on her .

Her only saving grace behaviour is that when I leave the yard she sits in the driveway and won’t move until I get home again , I mean thats the exact minute she starts misbehaving again 🤪

I guess the whole point of it is that I like my dogs , animals, man, and friends to have big personalities. I mostly find them delightful . 🤣🤣
Be careful what you wish for my mother would say !💕

GOOD MORNING! ☕🌿

Some of you may have noticed that Thistle, Gerald and the rest of the gang have been suspiciously absent lately.

Apparently they’ve been busy all summer.

The gnomes claim they’ve been tending the herbs.
The frogs claim they’ve been supervising the gnomes.

I have requested documentation from both parties. 🤨🤣

But all five gnomes and five frogs are still here, still employed, and apparently ready to resume their Herbal Tease duties.

Lord help us.

🔥 STIR THE POT FRIDAY 🔥

We’ve been talking about a cashless society for years.

Yesterday, for me, it stopped being one of those hypothetical “what if someday…” conversations.

I went into Canadian Tire in Hawkesbury, Ontario. My purchase was less than $10, so I pulled out cash to pay for it.

They wouldn’t take it.

I was told the store hasn’t accepted cash for about two months.

😳

And THAT got me thinking.

We’ve all seen the arguments about a cashless society.

We’ve joked about the Tooth Fairy needing a debit machine. 🧚‍♀️🤣

We’ve talked about kids’ lemonade stands, birthday money tucked inside a card, yard sales, farmers’ markets, buying something used from your neighbour, slipping your grandkid $20, keeping emergency money tucked away at home…

But it’s always been easy to discuss because, for most of us, cash was still sitting right there in our wallets.

So let’s stir the pot now that some businesses really ARE saying no cash.

🔥 How do you feel about it?

Would you be perfectly comfortable living completely cashless?

Or does the idea bother you?

What about privacy? Are you comfortable with every purchase you make electronically creating a transaction record?

What happens to people who don’t have a credit card, debit card or smartphone?

What happens when the power is out or payment systems go down?

And what happens to all those little everyday exchanges where cash still makes sense?

Yard sale? Better bring the e-transfer information.

Five bucks in a birthday card? Nope.

Grandpa slips you $20 and says, “Don’t tell Grandma”? Transaction pending. 🤣

Tooth Fairy?

UNEMPLOYED. 🧚‍♀️😂

And here’s the part I’m really curious about:

Maybe you almost NEVER use cash anymore anyway.

But is choosing not to use cash the same thing as no longer having the choice?

That’s where this gets interesting for me.

So stir the pot:

🔥 If every store announced tomorrow that cash was no longer accepted, would you care?

Or would you simply tap your card and carry on?
