🤔 Serious Question…

I’ve been seeing the phrase “AI slop” popping up everywhere lately.

So I’m curious…

If I take one of my own photos, have my own idea, spend fifteen minutes telling AI exactly where Gerald should stand, which shelf Thistle should be hiding behind, what the signs should say, what herbs belong in which jars, then reject six versions because Gerald looked possessed…

…is it still AI slop?

I draw sketches for my field guides in the Wildcrafted series , I plug them into ai after I draw them to clean up the images because I don’t truly understand the math involved in pixels and such . Does that make my books ai or are they me using another creative?

🤷‍♀️

Paint brushes didn’t paint the Mona Lisa by themselves.
Cameras don’t take award-winning photographs by themselves.
And AI certainly doesn’t wake up at 5 a.m. thinking,
“Today I’m going to put a frog named Gerald beside a grumpy gnome.”

A real person still has to imagine it first.

If you don’t enjoy AI art, that’s perfectly okay. 😊

We are like books.
Most people judge us by the cover.
Some read only the introduction.
Many believe the critics without turning a single page.

Only a handful take the time to discover the chapters that shaped us.
And very few stay long enough to understand how the story ends.

So don't waste your life trying to impress those who never intended to read your story.

The right people will value every chapter, even the difficult one...because they know the ending is never revealed on the first page.

Every life has a story worth reading. Keep writing yours. 💙

🌿☕ WE DID IT!! ☕🌿

15,000 FRIENDS?!?!!

I’m sitting here trying to find the words… and honestly, I don’t think there are enough.

When I started Herbal Tease, I thought maybe a handful of people would enjoy herbs, wildflowers and a few recipes.

Instead…

15,000 of you wandered into my little kitchen.

Some came for the herbs.
Some stayed for the recipes.

Some came for Gerald.

Some came for Thistle.

Some came because Pepper is ridiculously beautiful ( at least she thinks so 🤪).

Some probably arrived because I announced my dramatic breakup with Krispy Kreme. 🍩🤣

Along the way we’ve laughed together, learned together, shared gardens, wildflowers, family stories, kitchen disasters, victories, motorcycles, books, gnomes, frogs… and somehow built something that feels far bigger than a page.

It feels like family.

Every like, every comment, every picture of your flowers, every recipe you’ve tried, every laugh you’ve shared… you’ve helped make Herbal Tease what it is today.

From the bottom of my heart…

Thank you for pulling up a chair at my kitchen table.

Here’s to the next adventure.
