As many of you know, Roving Restaurant has always been a side hustle for me. As my marketing agency (shameless plug for Launch Consulting) has continued to grow, it's become harder and harder to keep up with the demand of the catering company, forcing me to sacrifice time with family and friends.

Thanks to all you amazing people, we've been very fortunate to be booking months in advance. At the same time, as a solo-preneur handling the operations and the majority of the cooking on my own, it's reached a point where it's no long manageable.

It's for these reasons we've decided to close this chapter of Roving Restaurant and are no longer accepting new bookings.

For those of you that currently have bookings - don't panic as those will all still be honoured by myself and/or a combination of chefs from our partner network.

And if you have purchased a certificate for a dinner we donated to charity auctions, those will all still be honoured as well.

For those looking for private dinning and catering, here's some amazing people providing similar services:

We wanted to take a moment to shout out who's been riding shotgun on this whole journey from small friend & family gatherings to now big ol' parties, weddings and pop-ups!

Starting with no culinary training, he's been a sponge learning recipes and the business as a whole, while working like a dog to pull gigs off with our tiny little team.

We've been doing the Newfoundland Fusion menu ALOT this summer, and nobody wants to see photos of that. But on Saturday we had the opportunity to do our revised Mexican Street Food menu for a great crew of loyal clients!

Pico, guac, chipotle honey jam, and homemade tortilla chips

Smoked Michelada shrimp, cream corn purée, smoked corn, cilantro oil

Carnita Tostada, manchego cheese, chipotle cream, pickled reds, cilantro

Lollipop Al Pastor Chicken, smoked pineapple, Mexican rice, pineapple reduction, crispy chicken skin.

Today was the ultimate day of worlds colliding.

For those that don't, I run a marketing agency called a Launch Consulting during the weekdays, before swapping out the blazer for an apron to run primarily on the weekends.

Earlier today I had the chance to cater a networking hour hosted by which brought together marketing agency owners from across the country. (Which I forgot to take pics of of course)

Then this evening an organization I volunteer with, , hosted an incredibly insightful session with and from .

There is creativity in everyone, and we've all got our outlets - whether it's through cooking, designing, building or writing. Let it flourish.

Had lots of good times doing pop-ups over the years - from Jiggs Dinner take-outs during Covid times, to Newfoundland Night charity dinners with .

It was pretty cool when Len asked me to submit a recipe that would be featured in The Deps cookbook highlighting 100 dishes that came out of those four walls over its 10+ year history of incredible chefs.

Getting back from an extended vacation yesterday to see the book in its final form was awesome. I know a lot of people poured their heart and soul into bringing this to life and its evident by quality of the finished book.

You can grab a copy most places you get your book so if you're looking some unique dish ideas from 100 chefs across 80 different counties, boy is this the book for you!
