Social media has a funny way of only showing the highlights.
The long lines. The sold out signs. The beautiful weather. The happy customers.
But this weekend was the complete opposite for us lol
After two amazing weekends where everything seemed to go right, we decided to go all in and do 4 festivals in one weekend 😅
Then Mother Nature had other plans.
Thunderstorms, tornado, heavy rain… at all four locations.
Traffic disappeared. Sales disappeared. Equipment got damaged. Hours and hours of prep work went to waste. We were fully staffed and fully stocked, but not a single human in sight.
It’s one of those weekends that reminds you how much of entrepreneurship is completely out of your control.
What people don’t see is that our whole team wakes up at 1:00 AM every festival weekend. They spend nearly 16 hours baking, cooking, packing, loading trucks, setting up, serving, tearing down, cleaning, then doing it all over again the next day.
Some weekends are chaotic but incredible.
Some weekends just hurt.
But that’s the reality of building a business. Every day there’s a new problem to solve. A new fire to put out. A new obstacle you didn’t see coming.
A lot of weekends it’s just stress and red numbers and figuring out how to make it back.
But that’s the job. You don’t get to quit when it rains…. literally. You solve the problem, you eat the loss, you show up the next day and do it again.
That’s what running a business actually looks like behind the scenes.
We chose this life, but sometimes it feels like to make it in this world this life has to choose you.
If you’re out and about this weekend, we’d genuinely appreciate your support. Even grabbing a mochi donut, a Vietnamese coffee, or one of our Cream Sandos makes a bigger difference than you probably realize. It means you’re supporting a team that pours everything they have into making these events happen.
