Dear valued customers,
We have some exciting changes coming to Special Occasion Cakes, and we wanted to take a moment to explain what you can expect over the next few months.
First and most importantly: Special Occasion Cakes is NOT closing!
After many wonderful years of welcoming you into our storefront, we have made the decision to transition away from a traditional retail storefront and move Special Occasion Cakes into a registered studio kitchen focused entirely on pre-orders and custom orders.
What does this mean for August?
Throughout the month of August, we are still operating from our storefront as usual. You can continue placing your orders and picking them up from our current location.
Our storefront will officially close to the public after August 30th. During September, we will be working behind the scenes to clear out the storefront and prepare for our move into the new studio kitchen.
What happens after the storefront closes?
Moving forward, Special Occasion Cakes will operate on a pre-order and custom-order basis only. There will no longer be a walk-in bakery or daily storefront selection.
Orders will be placed through our website. Simply click “Request Order,” fill out the form with what you would like, select your preferred pickup date and time, and choose your pickup location.
We will be offering pickup on select Fridays and Saturdays, with pickup options available in both Aylmer and Tillsonburg.
Our website will remain the same, so you will still know exactly where to find us online. Our phone/contact information will be updated as we transition.
What can you still order?
We're still here for the celebrations that matter to you! You will continue to be able to order custom cakes, cupcakes, decorated cookies and many of the Special Occasion Cakes treats you've come to know and love. The biggest difference is simply that everything will now be made specifically for your pre-order rather than being available for walk-in purchase.
This change is allowing us to step away from the demands of operating a full-time retail storefront so that we can spend more time with our family, while still continuing to do what we love most
