We’re a group of five 2nd year marketing students at the University of Vancouver Island and are looking to generate some buzz marketing. We want to test our ability and apply conceptual theory in generating expedient word-of-mouth for a local business, and who better than the Canadian icon Tim Hortons. In partnership with Timmies, we would like to do this via social media campaigns, promotional hand-outs, flyers/posters/banners, free coffee incentives for good grade, treasure hunts, and more. Our target market is the entire student member body at Vancouver Island University; not to mention one of the largest faculties on the Island. The potential for profit with an on campus Tim Horton’s is huge, and we want to measure the students reactions through buzz marketing.
