Qualicum Beach always impresses with its attention for local establishments to maintain its small town vibe.

turns over a new leaf on the longtime home of Bailey’s in the village. The location belongs in a movie with stone patio, manicured gardens, a clock tower and waterfall just outside its doors, while interior still pays tribute to that islanders appreciate.

We tried the poutine breakfast benny since it was before noon which hit the spot perfectly. The menu was full of choices that will sure to bring me back for more…. And that’s just the breakfast menu! The lunch/evening looked just as, if not, even more enticing!

If you don’t know, now you know!

Joe Burger - Nanaimo - Country Club Mall

As you walk thru the hallway of a shopping mall struggling to maintain customers in an online shopping era, you will find yourself a beacon of light, that welcomes your with fresh cut fries and handmade patties.

This maybe and I dare to say it, THE BEST classic diner burger I’ve yet to sink my teeth into.

Perfectly grilled patties, cheesy goodness, special sauce and layered to perfection between 2 buns.

Down in Nanaimo's Old City Quarter, trees overhang the street and the air smells of authentic Greek food. This is where you’ll find the savoury dishes, rich in culture at tavern.

Start with the calamari with fresh tzatziki dip, pairing with wine, pita bread and olives while you soak in the patio greenery.

Or perhaps your in search of a chicken souvlaki that bursts with Mediterranean flavours. Seasoned rice, carrots, lemon roasted potatoes with Greek salad to fulfill a part of the travel bug that’s pent up in us all.

Let’s not forget the cream sauce, wild seafood pasta that continues to get better with each passing bite.

But before we could leave, a dessert treat from the house that eventually brought on a food coma.

You won Asterea’s, you most likely always do, with your traditional dishes and exceptional service. Let’s just hope this coma doesn’t last another year. I’m glad to kick off gaining back access to this account to explore and support the restaurants that are the backbone of social gatherings.

Sailing thru 2020 hasn't been a breeze so far, but ending up at this cozy seaside cafe was a surprise treat.

A visit from the coastal B.C legend, Big H of the infamous Big H's Fish'n'Chips had us in search of a hardy seafood bounty!

You'll find this gem while cruising the coastal highway in Qualicum Bay. They served Cod fish this time of year, but we'll definitely be back for when they get halibut on the summer patio and to try out more of their great looking menu and much more.

Still Vegan strong over here. But found refuge at the new 3 week old brewery in Port Alberni

Patio season can't come soon enough, but that didn't stop us from enjoying tasty pints in the sheltered patio section, watching the rain, while being kept warm by some great heaters.

You need this place, I need this place. It's a winner, chicken dinner!

Don't worry breweries of V.I, we will be touring in March, right after the Dry Feb challenge.
