It is timely to advise all teams entered to ensure they have all roster details entered into the registration database to ensure we can accurately produce the schedule and game sheets.

Further a message from the host organisation is seeking the same of teams and where possible a team logo.

The host will be live broadcasting games (platform as yet not supplied to me) and to enhance the broadcasting would like team logos if possible please.
The IFBA does not normally handle this so I make the suggestion to head to their 2026 World Broomball page and in that post respond back to them with your logo.

We need your team rosters! The IFBA and the local organizing committee needs this to finalize details, set up the registration system, and complete the souvenir pamphlet.
Our livestream provider, HomeTeam, needs team logos, team rosters with full names, jersey #'s, and positions so they can showcase the teams and players during the live broadcast of your games.
Please send your rosters and logos to the IFBA as soon as possible!

Finally we can announce the teams entered into the IFBA 2026 World Broomball Championships.

There has been a huge amount of work behind the scenes by the IFBA and host to secure as many teams as possible given the current economic climate.

The competition will be of the highest standard and all who are in Whitehorse will share an experience unique as the location itself.

In fact we welcome a team from India for the first time into the Men's division.

We look forward to seeing and meeting all in Whitehorse.

If you still need to book you can find the information on the Event Information sheet, which can be found on the hosts page - 2026 IFBA World Broomball Championships

Rooms should still be available at most hotels except the Sternwheeler.

Nearly there. Now just weeks away and the excitement grows for all.

The host is finalising the week of events and we shall commence the playing schedule in the coming days, ready to proof check and be ready to post on line.

The Governors meeting shall be on the Monday for the representatives of all member associations.

We shall have a Hall of Fame ceremony mid week and all previous inductees who will be in Whitehorse are cordially invited along with team members of those who have been nominated this year.

A full list is being prepared and I will post that once completed with their respective biographies.

The location for both the Governors meeting and Hall of Fame ceremony is currently being confirmed by the host and I will promote that as soon as I have it.

Book your practice Ice by September 30th or it will be released.
Cost: $200 (etransfer payment) OR $210 (cc payment) /1 hour

The IFBA Board are taking submission from interested groups/persons who are looking at hosting upcoming IFBA World Broomball Champoionships.

We can look at 2028, 2030 & 2032

> All zones and areas where Broomball is played and can offer the resources needed for such a major event will be considered.

Our team is ready to hear from you and can send copies of the Host Policy and answer any questions you may have.

Ready to go then if you are in Whitehorse you can meet with the Governors on the Monday before competition commences and discuss you bid.

If you have a prospective bid but will not be in Whitehorse then please send to the General Secretary at [email protected]

I will table on your behalf at the Governors meeting.

If you are keen but do not yet have a formal proposal we can assist with that too.

The question was recently raised with me regarding minimum ages to play at the Worlds events.

As the IFBA World Broomball Championships are an adult based tournament and not a juvenile event, the focus is on adults but still maintaining a responsible safety of all players.

It is understood that there will be those players who are seen as capable of playing in adult teams despite being under the age set for the event and the question is asked "can they play"

The IFBA has within its rule set the following as can be read below:

1) All players, coaches and trainers must be registered for participating in IFBA events prior to the starting of the tournament.

2) Persons participating at sanctioned IFBA tournaments should be 18 years of age to play in the following categories.

Mens, Womens, Co-Ed (Mixed)

(a) Exceptionally, with the approval of the IFBA, players from the Juvenile category, or of age could participate in the Men's, Women's and Co-Ed (Mixed) categories with a minimum age of 16 years old or older on or before the commencement date of any sanctioned IFBA tournament.

(b) Where any participant is under the age of 19 on or before the commencement of any sanctioned IFBA tournament that they are involved in then: 'Juvenile rules will be applied' with the regard to individual personal safety.

(c) Persons participating in the Masters division must comply with the age requirements for that division.

Therefore the minimum age is set at 18 years. However in those cases where a team may have a player they believe can handle playing at the adult level there is, as seen in 2(a) a proviso that along with approval from the IFBA, we will in some circumstances allow players who are 16 years old BEFORE the commencement of the event.

Approval must be granted in the form of a letter from the IFBA and we shall ask for proof of the approval letter at the time of registration of a team.

If you have such a player then the process is simple. Email the General Secretary at [email protected] with full disclosure details such as the persons name, birthday details, team they are to play on, parental/guardian consent if necessary and any other details that will assist us to look favorably on the application to the IFBA.

Note that just sending such an email does not guarantee an approval.

As time is now short, if you have such a player with your team please make contact with the IFBA ASAP.
