Lunch with the matriarch of the family 💜

I can’t thank this woman enough for all she has done for us. The literal backbone of this family. Her love and support is unmeasurable.‼️

My late great grandfather always used to say, “I have to talk to the boss.” Her wisdom, guidance and support has been the glue that kept the family whole. They’re the reason why health is so important to me. 💯

God. Family. Community 🕊️

DESTA's impressive network of Black cultural producers and talented chefs is showing off in 2026 by kicking off an entire month to SAVOUR Black Futures at ONYX Lab in February!

Starting with a mixology workshop led by La Station 21 and ending with DESTA's Link Up gathering, we have a month of FREE workshops and events featuring Cantine Toca Toca, Studio K, Elle Jay's, Berlin Reed, Gut Rituals, Atelier Zamara, and the return of our popular Community Lunch workshops with Xspencive Cuisine every Wednesday through the month.

These events are all led by skilled pros who are dedicated to showing off what Black food culture has to share. We invite all to engage with living Black history using knowledge passed down from ancestors, the land, and our grandparents' kitchens to lead us toward rich Black FUTURES!

All events are at ONYX Lab at La Poubelle Magnifique. Registration links will be posted on the respective pages, keep an eye out for our signal boosts and make sure to sign up for these limited space FREE events!

This project is funded by the Foundation for Black Communities, with partial support from the Canadian Heritage.
