It seems word has started to get around about the future of Pizza Salvatoré Miramichi, and now that I have spoken to all of my staff I would like our customers and community to hear directly from me.
First, the closure of our store is not guaranteed. I am still fighting to find a solution. But I also need to be transparent that unless I can find a workable way forward, Pizza Salvatoré Miramichi will unfortunately be closing in the very near future.
The last several months have been incredibly difficult. The bridge closure and the significant changes in traffic and customer patterns that followed have had a major impact on our sales and our ability to keep up with the costs of operating the restaurant.
This store means more to me than I can properly put into words.
Pizza Salvatoré Miramichi has been a huge part of my life for the last 4.5 years, long before I ever became its owner. Becoming the owner of this store was something I worked toward, fought for and poured an enormous part of myself into. I've literally put my blood sweat and tears into making sure the store was successful, even during the time where I wasn't directly working there I still did what I could to help when needed . I've celebrated some of my biggest accomplishments here, faced some of my hardest days here, and spent countless hours trying to build something I could be proud of.
That's why walking away isn't something I'm ready to do without knowing I tried everything I possibly could.
I am incredibly grateful for the people who have stood behind this store. Many of our employees have been with us for years, some since opening or shortly after. They've been here through multiple management changes, the change from corporate to locally owned, busy nights, difficult seasons, staffing shortages, celebrations, setbacks and everything in between.
They aren't just names on a schedule. They're people I've worked beside, laughed with, struggled with and watched grow. I know the uncertainty surrounding the store affects their lives too, and I appreciate them more than I can say.
To my family — thank you.
Thank you for supporting me through the long days, late nights, phone calls, emergencies and all the times this restaurant needed something from me. Owning a business doesn't only affect the person whose name is on the paperwork. My family has carried pieces of this journey with me, and I will never forget that.
And to our customers and the Miramichi community — thank you.
Thank you to everyone who has ordered a pizza, stopped in for lunch, trusted us with a fundraiser, supported one of our community initiatives, recommended us to someone, shared one of our posts or simply continued choosing our restaurant.
Every single order has mattered.
For now, we are still open.
I have not stopped trying to find a solution, and until I know there isn't one, I'm going to keep looking.
If you want to support us while I do that, the biggest thing you can do is simply continue supporting the store. Order from us. Stop in. Recommend us your friends. Support the staff who continue showing up and working hard while our future is uncertain.
As soon as I know definitively what happens next, you will hear it directly from me.
Whatever happens, I will always be grateful for the people who helped make this store what it is.
This place has meant so much to me, and I'm not ready to say goodbye yet. ❤️
Thank you, Miramichi.
