Friends and Neighbours! We’re taking a little holiday, September 21-29 (next Monday to the following Tuesday) and reopening on September 30 (Wednesday). Come visit for this final summer weekend and then see you a week later with full fall feelings.
Tuesday September 15- closed as usual
Wednesday September 16: open 9-4
Thursday September 17: open 9-9 (golden hour 4-9)
Friday September 18 open 9-9 (golden hour 4-9)
Saturday September 19: open 9-9 (golden hour 4-9)
Sunday September 20: open 9-3 (Bruncheonette)
Monday September 21-Tuesday Sept 29: holiday closure!
Wednesday: September 30: open 9-4 (and so on thereafter)

Wow it's been almost a year that we've been at the helm of Ploughman's. At the beginning of last year, before the idea of taking on Ploughman's was anywhere near a reality, I read an interview with David Suzuki that urged us to turn to our local communities in the face of climate crisis. "...what we’ve got to do now is hunker down. The units of survival are going to be local communities, so I’m urging local communities to get together." When Desi and Stefan asked us if we wanted to take this community project on Suzuki's call to action was echoing in my ears. We're working (so!) hard to be a place that supports our staff to live here year round, supports local producers, supports visitors to engage with this place in sustainable ways, and supports local community to come together. It means so much to have that work recognized by Becky Druhan, MLA Lunenburg West in our legislature. And it means so much to know that we are part of a network of other small businesses doing the same.

Our cousins Ken and Trevor came from Winnipeg and played us Pink Pony Club and maybe we are a bit of a pink pony club and we all cried a bit in the audience and don’t you think the old shop loves live music?
