Membership is open until September 4th! Do it daily. Do it first. Do it yourself. I wholeheartedly understand.

Small business owners wear many hats, not the least of which includes owner, operator, finance manager, advertising executive, designer, manufacturer, distributor, service provider, and the list goes on. While every entrepreneur starts out as this task-juggling do-it-yourself-er, eventually you hit a critical tipping point when administering the business is preventing you from the opportunity to grow your business. Choosing to let someone else steer the financial reins isn’t easy. Whether you simply need assistance in getting set up with a functional bookkeeping platform or you want to hand off the whole process entirely, I’m here to help. Let’s meet for coffee and figure it out together.

I have a front row seat to a quiet revolution happening here in Canada.

Sole proprietors are fed up with unfavourable experiences with a critically understaffed accounting industry and are seeking help to take charge of their business numbers.

Collectively there IS a lot to master in your small business administration, but individually, each task is honestly no more challenging than choosing the size, colour, and quantity of your next online purchase.

We chip away at topics like this each week in my low ticket, small business admin membership group, especially during Office Hour on Tuesdays at 12 noon EDT.

This month’s enrolment is open until Monday, October 5th at 9 am EDT.

“Two outta three ain’t bad” is what we’re breaking down for small business owners in today’s reel. If you’re humming a famous song in your head right now, . 🤣

I can’t snap my fingers and bless you with talent, but we work on skills, work ethic, and organization in my small business admin membership group for sole proprietors and solo-run small corporation owners so you can finally have control over your admin.

This month’s enrolment is open until Monday, October 5th at 9 am EDT.

10 minutes a day can reduce procrastination and eliminate panic.

Wouldn’t we all like less drama each month?

After all, entrepreneurship is chaotic enough already!

I open a few spots each month to my low ticket, small business ‘admin’ support membership group, where we work on this together every week, along with lots of other topics formerly considered negative that we’re turning around, too.

DM or comment COHORT or click the Bookkeeping Support button on my Linktree to get more info on this month’s enrolment.

You have until Monday, October 5th at 9 am EDT to join us this month!

PS. I absolutely put the windshield on my DJI Mini Mic and stuck to an old calculator for attention, even if it’s negative.
Don’t worry, I probably won’t keep doing it…it’s impossible to talk without n both of my hands! 🤣🤣🤣

There are some new faces here so let me fill you in on how I roll here in my little corner of the internet. WELCOME!

There are no magic overnight solutions here.

Bookkeeping is a bunch of small, easily repeatable, learned skills that take practice to master.

I help you fill in the ‘I don’t know what I don’t know’ gaps and from there, we built out repeatable habits that get the job done without headaches or meltdowns.

You will not find high ticket coaching programs, self-paced courses, order bumps, upsells, or cheaper-if-you-pay-for-the-whole-year-up-front marketing strategies here. Implementation workshops will be scheduled as demand dictates.

LIVE weekly Office Hour sessions (Tuesdays at 12 noon EDT) are the anchor in the process, followed by posting questions in the membership hub for me to answer or messaging me directly for those really quirky or confidential questions.

I only offer one thing, a low-ticket bookkeeping support membership group for the sole proprietors and solo-run small corporation owners who can’t afford to hire a bookkeeper yet but still have to find a way to keep up with it and not make it a hot mess.

The monthly rate you sign up with is locked in for life. The rate will go up eventually on future enrolment weeks, but NEVER for existing members.

Enrolment is open now until Monday, October 5th at 9:00 am EDT.

DM or comment COHORT to get more details, or find the Bookkeeping Support Enrolment link on the top of my Linktree.

It’s rare to hear a bookkeeper recommend NOT paying for an outsourced bookkeeper. However, this bookkeeper believes that until YOU completely understand how your own bookkeeping works, AND are making enough to bring the cost of outsourced bookkeeping in line with sound financial practices, you should keep it in-house.My Independent Business Care Centre low-ticket bookkeeping support membership aims to bridge the gap between starting out and hiring out.
This isn’t something you master overnight. You’ll learn as you go, practice, and eventually have the process locked in. Every time you hit a speed bump or hurdle, I’ll be here to help you out. Office Hour is every Tuesday at 12 noon EDT. I’m in the membership hub answering questions from Monday to Friday, AND you can direct message me if your questions are really specific or confidential!DM or comment COHORT to get all the details. This month’s cohort enrolment period is open until Monday, October 5th, at 9 am EDT.

Okay…now the story!

I have a client who runs a recording studio. It’s a long-standing and common practice for singers to have a shot or two of alcohol before singing.

It acts as an astringent and strips mucous/phlegm caused by dairy products from the vocal cords which aids in a clearer tone.

Fun fact: My high school choir achieved the same idea with lemon wedges. 🍋😂

The studio owner wanted to know if they could expense the occasional bottle of scotch as a result.

I called the CRA at 3:30 on a Friday because this was a fun question to end their workweek with. 🤣

I explained what I described above, then the agent proceeded to research the validity of my explanation online and determined that yes, there would be a justified reason to expense a reasonable amount of scotch in a business year.

However, it would have to be treated somewhat like petty cash. There would need to be a logbook to record when, who, and how much was consumed, which would also need to correspond to the studio’s booking calendar.

Check…that’s doable!!

So…what’s the most surprising business expense you’ve claimed or seen claimed, and did it pass with the CRA?

The business owners keeping up with their bookkeeping aren’t doing more…they’re doing THIS differently…

…and we practice it throughout each month in my low-ticket bookkeeping support membership for sole proprietors and solo-run small corporation owners.

I open enrolment during roughly the last week of each month.

DM or comment GETONTHELIST if you want more info and to be notified first when it opens again.

Bookkeepers don’t learn their craft overnight and business owners don’t master their bookkeeping overnight either.

It’s a process that we chip away at while we’re busy running the dang business!

Business owners seem to feel like talking to an accounting professional is like being sent to the principal’s office, but instead, I want it to feel more like messaging with your business bestie.

I open enrolment to my low-ticket bookkeeping support membership group for Canadian small business owners during roughly the last week of each month.
