❤️ THE HUMAN AGAIN CHALLENGE — LET’S START SOMETHING. ❤️

I've been thinking a lot lately about how much the world seems to have changed over the last several years.

There is so much anger. So much judgment. So much negativity. People tearing down strangers online, neighbours who barely know one another, and people struggling silently while everyone around them assumes they're fine.

And I keep coming back to one thought:

Maybe we need to be human again.

I want to start something in our community, and I hope you'll help me.

This isn't a fundraiser.
There is nothing to buy.
There is no organization to join.
And you don't need money to participate.

It's simply called:

❤️ THE HUMAN AGAIN CHALLENGE ❤️

Right now, I am personally going through one of the hardest financial periods of my entire life.

I'm sharing that because I think sometimes we assume we need to have "extra" before we can help someone else.

We don't.

I may not have much money to give right now, but I still have two hands. I have a voice. I can cook an extra plate of food. I can check on a neighbour. I can share someone's small business. I can listen to someone who's having a terrible day. I can make somebody laugh.

And most importantly, I can care.

So here's my challenge.

For the next 7 days, do ONE intentional act of kindness every day.

It doesn't have to cost anything.

❤️ Check on an elderly neighbour.
❤️ Call someone who's lonely.
❤️ Make an extra plate of food for someone struggling.
❤️ Help someone carry their groceries.
❤️ Share or recommend a small business.
❤️ Leave a positive review instead of a negative comment.
❤️ Donate something you no longer need.
❤️ Give someone a ride.
❤️ Help an animal.
❤️ Listen to somebody without judging them.
❤️ Tell someone they're doing a good job.
❤️ Ask someone, "Are you really okay?"

And sometimes kindness is even simpler:

Don't say the hurtful thing. Don't join the gossip. Don't pile onto someone who's already struggling.

You never know what another human being is carrying behind closed doors.

And here's something important:

❤️ RECEIVING COUNTS TOO.

If you're the person who needs help right now, you belong in this challenge just as much as the person giving it.

Accept the meal.

Accept the ride.

Let somebody help you.

And someday, when life gets a little easier, pay that kindness forward.

There should be absolutely no shame in needing another human being.

Money doesn't determine kindness.
Education doesn't determine kindness.
Your job doesn't determine kindness.
Your home doesn't determine kindness.
Your age, background or social status don't determine kindness.

Humanity does.

❤️ AND HERE'S THE SECOND PART OF THE CHALLENGE.

I'm posting a HUMAN AGAIN — KINDNESS LIVES HERE sign.

Print it.

Put it in your front window, your business, your office, wherever people will see it.

Let that sign mean something:

A kind person lives here.
You will not be judged here.
If you're struggling, you matter here.
If I can help, I will.
And if I can't help, I will still treat you like a human being.

Imagine walking through a neighbourhood and seeing these signs appearing in windows.

One house.

Then five.

Then fifty.

Imagine our kids growing up seeing them.

Imagine somebody having the worst day of their life seeing one and being reminded:

There are still good people in this world.

If you take the challenge, you don't need to tell anyone what good deed you did. Kindness doesn't need an audience.

Simply comment:

❤️ DONE — YOUR TURN.

Then share this challenge or tag one person and ask them to continue it.

No bragging.
No competition.
No keeping score.

Just people helping people.

We can't fix everything that's wrong with the world.

But we can change the little piece of it that surrounds us.

Let's make kindness contagious.

Let's look after our neighbours again.

Let's give people grace when we don't know their story.

And maybe, one house, one business, one neighbour and one act of kindness at a time...
