Seton Annex Building, room 101 The International Education Centre (IEC) caters to the needs and concerns of international students.

Orientation, Immigration Advising, Counseling, Academic support, and the overall international student life experience at the Mount are our main concerns. We aim to enhance the cultural and academic adjustments of all international students. Our office is very open and we encourage all of you to stop by with your concerns, needs or even just to say hi and have a quick chat on how you are doing. IE

C provides several activities throughout the academic year. The following are some of our annual activities and make sure to check your email to know the details of the events:

Immigration Tip of the Week #3!

Will your study permit expire before you graduate?

If you need only one additional term beyond your study permit’s expiry date, plan ahead and apply for your extension at least 6 months in advance.

Planning early can help you:

✅ Avoid unnecessary delays
✅ Maintain your student status
✅ Make sure you have a valid study permit when it’s time to apply for your Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

Study Smart. Stay Eligible!

Planning to apply for your Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)? Don't wait until the last minute to take your English language test!

✅ Plan to take your test 2–4 months before you submit your PGWP application.

✅ Practice with the free resources available on the official test websites and YouTube.

✅ Remember: You must achieve the CLB 7 equivalent or higher in each language ability (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
Many students need more than one attempt to achieve the required score. Taking your test early gives you time to improve your results and helps avoid unnecessary delays with your PGWP application.

The MSVU Tax Clinic is now open to assist with 2025 tax filings.

Services will be available from March 2nd to April 2nd, with trained volunteers supporting students through the tax return process.

Students are encouraged to schedule their appointment in advance by scanning the QR code provided.
