Well my dear Followers it has definitely been a moment to say the least, since my last post.

As some of you know, we have been dealing with multiple family situations, which caused me to take a break from this blog; however I was and have been collecting content for when I was ready to relaunch. That being said, the relaunch will be happening in the coming days. There is about a year’s worth of content coming your way, and I have confirmed all restaurants are still in operation.

Mad Hatter Wine Bar

Located in Appapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, the Mad Hatter Wine Bar is a cute and unique wine bar you must stop in if ever in the area.

Their patio overlooks at lake, with two levels to the patio. The first level is on the ground with pebbles, while the second level is attached to the building itself. Inside you will find a seating area which makes you feel at home with typical tables but also couches and comfy chairs. Continue through the wine bar and you will come into a gift and bookshop featuring authors from Nova Scotia and other locally produced goods and wears.

The Mad Hatter was a quick stop along the way in our adventures that fall day. Yes, just getting caught up with the blog now. Lol. We had champagne overlooking the lake and a charcuterie board, featuring fresh fruit, figs, cheese, crackers, condiments and smoked meats.

Although our stop here was brief, it’s definitely a cute place to checkout. The menu also consists of local craft beers and other beverages; although one must be 19 to enter the patios or the actual bar itself. So leave the kiddos at home for this one. It’s honestly a great place if on a girls trip to stop in.

The Cable Warf - Food with an ocean view.

Located along the Halifax Harbor, amongst charming little storefront shops, you will find the Cable Warf, a stunning restaurant with even a more stunning view of the Harbor. Built on a pier, the Cable Warf offers indoor seating, with amazing lighting and well as an outdoor patio in the warmer months.

The Cable Warf is not only an upscale restaurant, but also a fresh fish market where you can go pick out your favorite catch of the day.

During a recent girl’s trip of Halifax the Cable Warf was one of the first seafood restaurants we visited. We had only meant to stop for a cocktail, however we had to try to the fresh raw oysters. Featuring the following sauces, red wine apple mignonette, Chorizo hot pepper sauce lemon and horseradish, this dish didn’t not disappoint. The red wine apple mignonette and Chorizo hot pepper sauce, was definitely a delightful addition to the oysters. The first cocktail I tried was The Cable Wharf Lobster Caesar. If you love Caesars and lobsters, then this is the cocktail for you. The Clamato is made in house and is infused with dill and fennel. Using Tito’s Vodka and lobster stock, this Ceasar come together beautifully. Of course, it would not be a Lobster Caesar, without having lobster meat and house made pickles as garnishes. The second cocktail I tried was the Lavender Menace. This delightful cocktail features Empress Gin, Dolin Blanc Vermouth, lemon lavender, egg White and is garnished with lavender.

Although our visit was short at The Cable Warf, the food and drinks were amazing, service was top notch and the views of the seashores spectacular. Should I ever return to Halifax, The Cable Warf will definitely on my list to visit again.
