Carrot harvest has begun! We do our best to get our carrots out of the ground before September before the potential for wet weather. We have heavy soils with a lot of clay - not ideal for growing carrots or harvesting them when it is wet. Those challenging soils are also why they taste so great! The clay holds on to minerals and micronutrients that our carrots (and you!) benefit from.

Sometimes the simplest is the best way. Fresh tomatoes (any kind!) + balsamic vinegar + little bit of olive oil + little bit of salt. Easy, fast, highlights the best of the season, and delicious veggies on your plate.

We did get the sprinklers back on, but there's still trouble brewing. Just so grateful that river levels are doing well and we're not currently facing water restrictions like so many other hard working farms in our region!
