We say this with love.
The whole point of bringing in an OBM is to let someone who understands operations come in, look at what’s actually happening, and build something better.

But the most common thing we see? Founders who hire support and then hold on so tightly to the way things have always been done that nothing actually changes.

We get it. Your business is yours. Every process, every system, every way of doing things has a reason behind it, even if that reason is just “this is how it’s always been.”

But growth requires letting go of some of that. Not all of it. Not overnight. But enough to let the work actually work.

Every single one of these has been said with complete sincerity. And meant something entirely different.

The people closest to us learn the language eventually. They stop taking “I’m almost done” at face value. They know that “the team has it covered” means we’re still very much involved. They’ve accepted that one laptop open on a Saturday is just part of the deal (not always but, catch me on my laptop instead of doom scrolling some days...).

Wouldn’t change it though. This is just what it looks like to care a lot about my baby andddddd still be working on better boundaries and BaLance!~ if I’m being SO honest.
