Our Cornwall friends and family often ask us when we'll be at a local market. Well, this is your chance! Crowley's will have a booth at this weekend's Crysler Old School BBQ Competition & Festival from noon til 5 pm. There will be over 15 local vendors, Poutine the Clown will be doing free facepainting, and you can come watch our competitors as they cook up ribs for the competition, then vote for your favourite at the People's Choice table ($10 for a "flight" of one rib from each of the 5 competitors).

We are ecstatic to welcome two new teams to the 2nd Annual Crysler Old School BBQ Competition!

BEARDS & PIGTAILS
Sandor and his girls, wife Chantal and daughter Kayleigh have been enjoying outdoor cooking for years. Sandor’s barbecue is favoured amongst his small circle of friends and family, and is requested at most family get-togethers year round. From brisket to cowboy beans dubbed “better than Texas”, pulled pork, it just gets better and better.
Always striving to do the best barbecue he can offer, he researches tips and tricks from pit masters like Aaron Franklin, Chris Lilley, Harry Soo, and countless others. After his first Chili Cookoff win in 2022 , to just firing up the grill or smoker in his modest backyard, expect BIG things. Sandor is someone who takes life and career as a truck driver seriously. He is also a Ride Captain for Ottawa Chapter of Motorcycle Ride for Dad.

MAC N RACK ATTACK
Mike & Eric are just a couple of backyard BBQ enthusiasts. This will be our first official competition, although Eric does host an annual event between friends he refers to as the "stampville smokeshow". Mike won the inaugural event, and Eric was this summer's winner.
For the Old School BBQ Competition we'll be cooking on a Yoder's Loaded Wichita and a Weber kettle grill.

Get ready for a BBQ battle royale! 🍖️ We've got not one, not two, but THREE returning competitors!

J&F BBQ
J&F BBQ has been competing for 3 years now for fun not professional by any means. We do enjoy smoking and serving large groups of friends and family. Last year, J&F brought some stiff competition!

CHOMPERS BBQ
Back to defend their 2025 title, Barry and Kayla are the passionate duo behind Chompers BBQ. An amateur barbecue couple based in Ontario, dedicated to traditional techniques and bold, homemade flavours. Working exclusively with an offset smoker, a process that defines real barbecue! Chompers is the one to beat: they're not afraid to get a little competitive!

VINCENT BOUCHARD
Vincent is the BBQ mastermind who showed up last year with a smoker on a tractor (because, why not?). Rumour has it, he's upgrading to something even bigger this year... we're talking BBQ on steroids! Bring. It. On.

One of our favourite things at markets is chatting with our customers about BBQ. If you or anyone you know has a smoker and wants to try their hand in an old school, no pressure rib competition, have them drop us a line! The Crysler Old School BBQ Competition & Festival is next weekend, Saturday September 12th, and we're still accepting competitors.

Last year's first place winner was a first-time competitor! Maybe this year is your turn!

Looking for a fun day with the family next weekend that includes some BBQ? Come check out the Crysler Old School BBQ Competition & Festival! The competitors will start smoking first thing in the morning; our local vendor market (with at least 15 local vendors) will run from noon til 5. You can buy tickets and try the competitors' ribs, then vote for your favourite in the People's Choice Rib Competition. This fun-filled day includes face painting from Poutine the Clown, and is followed by a pulled pork dinner (catered by Crowley's Deep South Pit BBQ), complete with smoked sausage, mac & cheese, our famous campfire beans. Dessert is provided by The Old General Store Crysler.

If you're not near Crysler to pick up your dinner tickets, drop us a line; we can send you a payment link and you can pick up your tickets on the day of the event at the Crowley's stand in the vendor market.
