We've got a summery dinner feature for y'all this week. Also a great use for the infamous porch zucchini.
Stuffed zucchini with a sunflower seed crusted chicken breast, cous cous with trapanese pesto and a niagara peach chutney.
Half price bottle of wine all day on Friday - if you like that wine stuff. I know I do

Rainy Sunday brunch, friends. This one is going to hit the spot. And it features some cheeeeese croutons 😝
Brunch shrimp curry on crispy potatoes with eggs, paneer croutons and mango chutney.
Pair this one with a mimosa for an extremely visually pleasing brunch. We promise that it tastes great too

So if your neighbor gifts you with a porch zucchini, or a random basket of garden veggies, here's something you can do with the bounty:
Zucchini, cheddar and cornbread waffles with peppercorn roasted pork belly, garden vegetable succotash
Or you can come in for brunch, and leave the veggies in that drawer in the bottom of your refrigerator. If you put your snacks underneath, no one will every find them.

On a lighter note- check out this awesome dinner feature 😋
If you are like me, and like a whole lot of flavours on one plate- this one is for you. And me - because sometimes I get to eat the picture food.
Chicken picatta with heirloom tomato panzanella and creamy linguini Alfredo with broccoli.
Half price wine tonight, friends 🧡

PSA, August friends:
The building that has been home to August Restaurant for the last 18 years is for sale... again.
We will continue to care for our staff, customers and community through this stressful process, but it also means that we don't know what the future may bring.
Typically, we have tried to buy the building when it comes up for sale, but banks don't like to lend money to small businesses, and this time, it is listed for a cool million dollars more than the last time. That's a whole lot of Reuben sandwiches.
It's been a heck of a year so far with all of the construction, the frequent power outages and the rain. This is just a little more icing on the cake 😅
We will keep you posted through this challenging process.
If anyone has a big truck and wants an awesome restaurant in their commercial space, we are always open for suggestions 😀
Until then, see you at brunch, and lunch, and dinner.

Hi Sunday friends, turns out had some delicious roma tomatoes. I roasted them with some olive oil for this epic brunch feature. This is a 5 layer grilled cheese on brioche with poached eggs, bacon and dilly hollandaise sauce.
If this seems like a good idea (*yes it does) then come on in for brunch on Sunday. We have other great stuff on the menu, but this one is worth crossing the construction wasteland for 🤣🤣🤣
Sorry, Barb and Robin - I know you are away this weekend. I fully expect to be in trouble next Sunday 🙃

When you look at the August Restaurant sign - that's a 🍅
Years before we opened this restaurant, we would grow our own heirloom tomatoes - and lots of them. Now we get them from our friends Substrata Farm | Arlo & Danielle. Thanks Dani and Arlo, your tomatoes are wonderful. I miss growing them, but I'm glad I still get to eat them.
