🌬️ Little Stray Winds Café — Card Surcharge Update
We’re moving early. Effective today, we’ve removed all card payment surcharges at Little Stray Winds Café.
You’ll notice this change right away at our home base:

This update aligns with the upcoming Reserve Bank of Australia rules taking effect on 1 October 2026, but we’ve chosen to roll it out now to keep things simple and transparent for our community.
What this means for you: No card surcharges on eftpos, Mastercard, Visa or Amex
Our menu prices are not increasing — everything stays exactly as it is. Pay however you like: tap, wallet, card or cash
What this means for us: Even though surcharges are gone, cafés still pay fees every time a card is tapped. Under the new rules, those fees must be absorbed by the business.
We want to be upfront with our Little Stray Winds family:
We’re choosing not to raise prices right now, even though we’re absorbing these costs earlier than required.
How you can support your local café: If you’d like to help us keep prices steady while we absorb these changes, paying cash is the most effective way. It reduces the fees we pay and helps us keep Little Stray Winds affordable for everyone — especially during a time when costs across Australia continue to rise.
