🖤💛❤️ Happy NAIDOC Week! ❤️💛🖤
Today marks the beginning of NAIDOC Week, a time to celebrate, recognise and honour the history, cultures, achievements and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
For us at Native Nourish, NAIDOC Week is more than just a date on the calendar. As an Aboriginal-owned small business, it is a week of pride, connection, storytelling and celebrating the world’s oldest continuing living culture through the food we create and the community we serve.
NAIDOC stands for the National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee. What began as a movement to recognise the rights and voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples has grown into a national celebration that invites everyone to learn, reflect and celebrate First Nations cultures and contributions.
This week is incredibly special to our family and our business. We’ll be out and about catering events, sharing native flavours and connecting with our community. Every meal we prepare is an opportunity to showcase the incredible ingredients, traditions and stories that make Australian Indigenous culture so unique.
Whether you’re attending a community event, learning something new, supporting an Aboriginal-owned business or simply taking the time to acknowledge the significance of NAIDOC Week, every step helps build understanding, respect and reconciliation.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support Native Nourish. Your support allows us to share our culture, our passion and our love of native Australian food with our community.
Wishing everyone a meaningful and memorable NAIDOC Week. 🖤💛❤️
