Meeting a candidate in person for the first time was a valuable experience for our family. Too often, we cast our votes without ever having the opportunity to meet the person behind the name. This time was different. We had the chance to listen, ask questions, and get to know someone who made the effort to reach out to local families and small businesses like ours.
As small business owners, we know the challenges many local businesses face every day. It means a lot when someone takes the time to listen, understand those realities, and hear directly from the people they hope to represent.
Back home, our family was also involved in serving our community, so we understand that having the heart to help is important. But we also know that to create real change, you need the opportunity to serve in a position where you can act on behalf of the people. When a community entrusts someone with their vote, they are giving that person the responsibility to be their voice, represent their concerns, and work for the good of everyone.
Regardless of political views, we believe it's important to meet the people asking for our trust before we cast our vote. Having that conversation helps us make a more informed decision.
