When a kitchen cooks together, eats together, and serves together, it becomes more than a workplace, it becomes a team.

A big shout-out to our kitchen team for being absolute champions over the past few months.

As we’ve navigated production changes and responded to growing demand, you’ve continued to show up with teamwork, resilience and care in every meal that leaves the kitchen.

Your willingness to adapt, support one another and keep the standard high does not go unnoticed.

Thank you for the hard work, the laughs, and the shared meals along the way.

What a beautiful morning celebrating International Women’s Day with the Ku-ring-gai community! 🌸

The Village Chef was so proud to sponsor the cake for today’s celebration, a massive thank you to The Green Bakery for creating such a masterpiece! It was the perfect centrepiece for a room full of inspiring women.

We loved every second of it, from Alexandra Hudson’s hilarious and thought-provoking comedy session to the incredible music from the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra.

It was a privilege to be in the room with so many local leaders, including Christine Kay Mayor of Ku-ring-gai, Deputy Mayor Sallianne McClelland, Councillors Barbara Ward, Indu Balachandran and Cr Matt Devlin as well as the powerful voice of author Aminata Conteh-Biger.

Our very own Grace and Rhianna loved representing The Village Chef team and soaking up the energy in the room.

Thanks to Ku-ring-gai Council for putting on a great morning; it was a privilege to be part of the crowd and keep the momentum going for a more equal future.

What a day at the Turramurra Uniting Church for the Everything Seniors’ Day! ✨

We were proud to provide the morning tea and lunch for the event, but the real highlight was seeing the community come together to connect with such vital services.

The day was all about empowering our seniors, covering everything from help-at-home and carer support to advice on hearing, vision, and navigating financial rights.

It was a one-stop shop for everything needed to stay independent and supported.

Pictured here is Rhianna alongside the incredible students from Excelsia College. These students are currently on placement with us, and we’re loving the energy and heart they bring to the Village Chef family as they learn the ropes of supporting our local seniors.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our table for a chat.

We love being part of a community that looks out for its own! 💚

At The Village Chef by Meals on Wheels, women make up a significant part of our workforce and volunteer community. From kitchen to coordination, deliveries to administration, their care, dedication and leadership help keep our service running and our clients supported each day.

A heartfelt thank you to all women who contribute their time, skills and compassion to our organisation - and to The Green Bakery helping us mark the occasion with something sweet.

Happy International Women's Day from the women of The Village Chef! ✨

Meet some of the incredible women at The Village Chef.

Today is about a vision.

Imagine a world that’s truly gender-equal.

A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.

At The Village Chef, we’re all about building a space that’s diverse and inclusive - where every difference is valued and celebrated.

Why do we mark this day?
IWD has been around since 1911, and while a lot has changed, the mission to advance women is just as vital today.

It belongs to everyone who cares about gender equality.

It’s a day to celebrate how far we’ve come, raise awareness about the work still to do, and take real action toward gender parity.

This year’s theme, , is right up our alley.

Giving isn't about having less; it's about building more.

By supporting each other, we’re creating a cycle of success where every bit of effort we put in comes back to make our village even better. 🤝

At The Village Chef, our kitchen is the heart of everything we do. 🙌🏼

It’s where fresh ingredients meet the passion of our team to create more than just a meal - we create nourishment and connection.

This is a small glimpse behind the scenes of our Village Chefs in action.

We are incredibly proud of our hardworking kitchen staff and volunteers who show up every day to ensure that every dish served across Sydney is fresh, safe, and made with heart.

As we work toward enhancing our efficiency and transparency, our team has been busy undergoing intensive training for our new Salesforce system.

This transition is a vital investment in our future, ensuring we can continue to provide quality food and deeper community engagement across all our sites.

We want to extend a huge thank you to our implementation partners at WiredLans - John Cooksley, Tanika Smith, and Jake Vanderrol - for their dedicated development support. Our Operations Manager, Sheridan Davis, and CEO, Grace Eu, recently caught up with the team at the Salesforce Tower to celebrate the progress made on this important milestone.

While we are excited about the journey, the implementation process has provided some important learnings as we refine our internal operations.

To ensure the transition is as smooth as possible for our clients and volunteers, we are taking the time to get every detail right.

We will keep everyone updated on our expected "Go-Live" date as we move closer to the finish line.

We truly appreciate your patience and support as we build a stronger, more connected Village Chef.

We were absolutely honoured to celebrate a truly remarkable milestone at our Manly today - the 100th birthday of our resident pianist, Peter! 🎉

For years, Peter has been a cherished part of The Village Chef family, delighting our clients and Seniors Groups with his skilful piano solos.

His music does so much more than provide a beautiful backdrop; Peter has a unique gift for encouraging everyone to join in and sing along to classic songs.

We were also very pleased that Councillor Nick Beaugeard from the Northern Beaches Council attended our celebrations at Manly to mark this incredible occasion.

It was wonderful to have local representation join us to witness the vibrant community spirit firsthand and share in the joy of Peter’s milestone.

Adding to the wonderful atmosphere, we want to give a special shoutout to Balgowlah Boys High School for their fantastic music performance, which made the day even more memorable.

Celebrating a century of life and music with Peter was a highlight for the entire community, and we are so grateful for the "light and happiness" he brings to every visit through his talent and spirit.

15 years of heart and dedication, thank you, Sue! 💛

Sue has been volunteering at our Mona Vale site for 15 years, giving her time once a week (and often more!) with warmth, energy, and a smile.

She’s always happy to step in and help wherever she’s needed, and her bubbly nature brightens the day for clients and fellow volunteers alike.

We’re so grateful for your generosity and commitment, Sue - what an incredible milestone! 🌟
