We’re growing the team at Mecca Coffee.

We’re looking for experienced hospitality people to join us across our Sydney locations:

☕️Senior Baristas — Full Time & Casual
For people who know their way around a busy bar, care deeply about coffee, and understand that great service matters just as much as what’s in the cup.

🏠 Front of House All-Rounder — Full Time
We’re also looking for someone with strong hospitality experience who wants to take the next step. You’ll work across service and coffee, with the opportunity to develop your skills and grow towards a future management role.

We’re looking for people who are curious, switched on, generous with customers and good to work alongside.

Making new friends over coffee…

It’s a delight when we can take a moment to have coffee and chats with other likeminded curious mates.

enjoys pouring with x special dripper. And even better, brewing with something special from Honduras. Our annual and limited release of a washed Geisha from our long time mate 🇭🇳

Light and Floral it’s got character. Lemongrass and Jasmine flavours rolls around. But you be the judge..

Now Brewing - Mecca Coffee, Foley Street.

If you haven’t heard yet, we’ve quietly opened a new little space on Foley Street, Darlinghurst.

Designed alongside KILLING MATT WOODS, this project has been more than three years in the making. Cosy, considered and a little hidden away, it’s our new home for coffee in one of Sydney’s most character-filled neighbourhoods.

This film was captured by JSquared Studios the week before we opened. The plan was to introduce the space with this very piece of content, but word travelled faster than we did. Before we had the chance to say hello, the locals, our neighbours and plenty of curious coffee drinkers had already found us.

Since opening on Monday 20 July, we’ve been genuinely humbled by the response. Seeing so many people embrace this little cave has been something we never expected.

Attention comes and goes, but this isn’t what this project was about. After more than twenty years, we’re still interested in the same things: thoughtful design, carefully sourced coffee, genuine hospitality and becoming part of the neighbourhood.

To everyone who’s already stopped by, thank you.
For those still waiting for their first visit, we’ll have the coffee ready.

And Alex Kumijan, after two decades of shaping our history and friendship, this one is for you 🫶

In Good Company. 👭👬

Back in June, we hosted our first In Good Company coffee tasting with our good mates Made of Many.

Held over two mornings, we began at our roastery in Alexandria before heading to Brighter Coffee, home of Made of Many, the following day.

Together, we showcased two beautiful Colombian coffees: a Chiroso from Jhoan and Diego Vergara of Finca Las Flores, alongside a delightful Bourbon Aruzi from Javier Quintero, roasted by Made of Many.

Brewing with TIMEMORE Coffee OFFICIAL, Richie, Ben, Ching and Junji poured and talked; meeting new and familiar faces. It’s a reminder that coffee is at its best when it brings people together, and something we’re excited to continue growing.

We’ve now roasted the final batch of the Vergara brothers’ Chiroso. Still tasting beautifully of Turkish delight and lavender, it’s a coffee best enjoyed as a pour over.

You can taste it at our new Darlinghurst space, as well as Alexandria and Paddington, with a limited amount available online.

PADDINGTON — FULL-TIME BARISTA
We’re after an experienced specialty coffee barista for an immediate start. You’ll be working with a small team, great regulars and a pretty prime corner of Paddington.

DARLINGHURST — OPENING SOON
Our newest location is just around the corner, and we’re looking for casual and full-time team members to be part of this next chapter.

Hospitality experience is a plus. Good energy, curiosity and care for what you do are essential.
