A mermaid cake with a difference! I love making custom cakes as I’m always taking on something new! I’d never heard of a mercat before so this mercat cake from the show Gabby’s Dollhouse was a new one for me!

Oh and I almost forgot, the most important thing about decorating mermaid cakes is the amount of edible glitter!! So so much magical sparkle required!

Two mermaid cakes for this week but they were both very different!

It’s been an absolute delight making wonderful cakes for Sienna and her family over the years.

Sienna is still very much fascinated by fairies and wanted another fairy cake but a different design from her previous one. This enchanted fairy cake was such a beautiful design to create! An intricately adorned fairy cake complete with buttercream accents, handcrafted toadstools, fairy door, fondant flowers and wafer paper butterflies!

Jacqui’s husband is a graphic designer and approached me to create his brilliant design brief in edible cake form! The second pic was the design brief I referenced from Jacqui’s husband. All the panels of fondant were precision hand cut and hand painted with edible ink.

How cool is this multi sports cake design for Oliver’s 6th birthday?!!!

The cake was handpainted with edible ink in an ombré green finish. All balls were skilfully handcrafted from fondant and complemented with handcrafted cricket bat and wicket fondant toppers along with precision hand cut tessellated fondant tiles.

A cute handcrafted Superman fondant topper combined with precision hand cut cityscape silhouette and logo, all skilfully hand cut without the use of moulds or templates.
