Sound on- Simple steps to cook a New York Steak
1) Make sure to take out your steak from the fridge, at least 20 minutes before cooking (or else you end up boiling your steak and it cooks unevenly)
2) Season with salt, pepper and olive oil
3) Crush garlic with salt- this helps release the flavour
4) Heat the pan on high heat. Sear the steak on the initial side for approximately a minute before turning to the other side.
5) Render the fat on the side approx 30 seconds and then cook on each side for 30 seconds.
6)Add butter with garlic, Rosemary and thyme and base the steak with butter for approx 30-60 seconds.
7) Rest steak for 5 minutes before serving!
