Our morning didn’t quite go to plan but sometimes that’s how you find the best places.

We started at the Kawana Farmers Market with Miss Paul in tow, only to discover that dogs aren’t allowed. Hot tip for fellow dog parents!

So we changed course and headed for a walk around beautiful Lake Kawana instead. That’s when we stumbled across this hidden little café tucked away by the water.

What a find.

A peaceful escape from the noise, with outdoor seating overlooking the lake, a cool breeze rolling across the water, great coffee, organic food options, and even biodynamic milk on offer. Best of all, it’s dog friendly, so Miss Paul was more than welcome.

If you’re looking for a slower start to your weekend, take a walk around Lake Kawana and stop here for a coffee by the water. Sometimes the unexpected detours lead to the best discoveries.

Today we discovered a little gem by Bulcock Beach – SaltiReads Café.

This gorgeous café is impossible to miss with its cute umbrellas out the front, creating the perfect spot to sit, relax and soak up the coastal atmosphere.

What makes it even more special is that it’s a haven for romance book lovers. Shelves filled with romance novels, homemade biscuits, great coffee, and beautiful beachside views make it feel like a cosy escape from everyday life.

We suggest spending the morning browsing books, enjoying a coffee and indulging in some delicious homemade biscuits while watching the world go by at Bulcock Beach. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer and order another coffee.

If you’re looking for a charming café with character, books, treats and a touch of romance, SaltiReads is definitely worth a visit.

We enjoyed a beautiful slow morning coffee with Theo today at Hunter & Gatherers in Kingaroy, one of those cafés you instantly want to linger in a little longer.

Theo sampled the hot chocolate for us and his official verdict was that it was “amazing” and he wasn’t wrong. Our coffees were rich, comforting and perfect for a cool country morning.

The café itself is full of charm, with vintage furniture, little private rooms for intimate chats over coffee, and beautiful vintage clothes and homewares to browse while you wait. It feels cosy, welcoming and full of personality.

We loved sitting outside in the alfresco area soaking up the fresh country air with our hot drinks while the café buzzed around us. They open from 7am which was good for early risers.

There’s something for everyone on the menu too, from fresh healthy meals to sweet treats and sharing plates. And if you’re lucky, the little black kitten might wander over to say hello.

Definitely the kind of place that makes you slow down and enjoy the morning.

Some cafés just feel like a Sunday morning… and Sunday Coffee absolutely lives up to its name.

We stopped in with our puppy Paul and instantly understood why this place is always packed with people. Even though it was busy, it still felt relaxed and welcoming.

The communal tables made it easy to chat with others while Paul happily met a few new dog friends too. The designer umbrellas, contemporary beach styling and breezy atmosphere gave the café such a chic coastal feel… very Bokarina.

Ordering through the QR code made everything simple and stress-free, especially on a busy morning. Plus, with the beach only about 100m away and a playground directly across the road, it’s the perfect spot for families, friends, beachgoers and dog lovers alike.

A relaxed, beachy café that captures the Sunshine Coast lifestyle perfectly.

We stopped in at White Picket Fence Café with family for a coffee before heading off for a walk along the Caloundra esplanade 🤍

We chose it because it’s dog-friendly for our two girls, Betty and Paul and it has that relaxed, beachy, casual atmosphere that just feels right by the coast.

Even though it was busy (always a good sign), it didn’t feel overwhelming at all. We sat out the back, which was lovely and comfortable, but there’s also plenty of seating inside and out the front under the umbrellas.

The cappuccino was spot on, and the iced latte with banana bread was just as delicious—simple, done really well. And the muscle shake? Let’s just say it worked instantly… we could practically feel his muscles growing.

Such an easy, welcoming place to start your morning before a stroll along the water 🤍

If you’re craving a little slice of Italy on the Sunshine Coast, Cafe Sisily is the place to go.

Tucked away in Golden Beach, this family-owned gem brings authentic Italian flavour straight to your morning ritual from rich, velvety coffee to handcrafted pastries that feel like they’ve come straight from a Sicilian pasticceria.

The cannoli are amazing! Crisp shells filled with creamy, indulgent fillings that locals line up for and once you’ve had one, you’ll understand why.

What truly made our visit special was the service. Our waitress, Carolin, was incredibly friendly, knew the customers, and created such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It’s that kind of genuine connection that turns a simple coffee stop into a memorable experience.

If you have a puppy like us, you can enjoy a table outside. The perfect spot to relax while still being part of the café’s welcoming atmosphere.

There’s a beautiful sense of community here in the familiar faces, the relaxed vibe, and the feeling that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
