From Saab (Saurabh) – Founder of Tikka Shikka
Food has always been more than just food for me — it’s about bringing people together. Growing up, I was surrounded by the aroma of spices, the sound of sizzling grills, and the joy of sharing meals with family and friends. Those moments shaped my love for cooking and my passion for hospitality.
With Tikka Shikka, I wanted to bring something close to my heart to Melbourne — combining my love for charcoal grilling with authentic Indian flavours and recipes passed down through generations. There’s something magical about cooking fresh Australian produce over real charcoal, right in front of guests, and watching their eyes light up at the first bite.
Our motto is simple — we love feeding people. That’s our goal every single time: to make sure every guest leaves with a full belly, a happy heart, and a memory worth sharing.
Even the name ‘Tikka Shikka’ comes from my childhood memories — an unconventional Punjabi expression that flows when you’re relaxed, celebrating, and enjoying life. That’s exactly how I want our customers to feel at their event — carefree, happy, and completely looked after.
Every event we cater is personal to me. It’s not just about serving food — it’s about creating an atmosphere where flavours, fire, and friendships come together.
