The recipes Hevi still thinks about when she’s far from home.
For this Sunday Table, Hevi is stepping into The Upperhouse kitchen alongside Executive Chef Wayne Alger to share the dishes she grew up with in West Kalimantan.
These aren’t restaurant recipes. They’re family recipes.
The kind passed down from mother to daughter. The meals that marked celebrations, brought everyone to the table and became part of everyday life. The dishes Hevi still craves when she’s away from home.
From handmade dumplings and satay skewers to slow-cooked beef rendang and ice cendol for dessert, this menu is a reflection of family, culture and the flavours that shaped her childhood.
On Sunday 14 June, we’re bringing those recipes to the table and sharing them the way they were always intended to be enjoyed… together.
