Day 1 - Fun, eventful & a VERY successful day! My bestie came over to help me make coffees and learn all the coffee making ins and outs. How lucky am I to have a best friend who was once in the exact same position as me and is now running such a successful café BUNA.CAFE she’s truly an inspiration🫶🏻

She was the very first person I told about this idea. When I asked what she thought, she gave me nothing but support, encouragement and belief from day one. I’m so grateful to have had her cheering me on every step of the way🥹

To top it all off, all my stock arrived from Infiniti Group Australia woooo! 💃🏻

From a blank canvas to Calma Mornings 🌞 Swipe to see the photos from the day I first saw the coffee trailer. Straight away, I knew it was the one!

Every “maybe” has so clearly become a “definite yes” when I’ve come across the things that truly felt right. From the business name, to the trailer, to the location, it’s all slowly fallen into place 💫

Looking back at where this all started makes me so excited for what’s to come ☕️

The diaries of a newly self-proclaimed baker 👩🏻‍🍳

The plan was always for my mum to make all of the sweets, and while she’ll still be helping (and will always be the true Italian Nonna), life got busier for her and I started wondering how I could help, and whether I should outsource, because I never really saw myself as much of a baker.

Instead, over the last few months, I’ve been practising, trialling recipes and spending plenty of time in the kitchen. And honestly, one of my favourite parts of this journey has been discovering hidden passions I never knew I had.

I’m constantly reminding myself to change my mindset from “I could never do that” to “I can learn.”🙇🏻‍♀️

📣 LOCATION ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

The approval has come through and I can finally share that Calma Mornings will be located at Lions Park, Pinjarra! 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

To be honest, up until a week ago there were still a few locations up in the air, and I didn’t have a permanent spot locked in. Having this secured now makes everything feel so much more real, exciting, and very close. Also reminds me to always trust the process✨

This is the same location that Cinnamon Skies Coffee Co traded from for many years. Misty, the new owner, has decided to take the business in a different direction and focus on events, and I’m incredibly grateful that she reached out to let me know about this opportunity!

Pinjarra is a place that means a lot to me. It’s just up the road from where I grew up, where I went to primary school, and where I completed my traineeship before starting my local government career. Being able to bring Calma Mornings here feels like a true full-circle moment.

This will become my permanent location, with regular trading days each week. There are a few finals things being ticked off then, I’ll be sharing all the details, including opening dates and trading hours, the aim to be opened by mid October🤞🏻

I can’t wait to serve the beautiful Pinjarra and surrounding community & welcome you all to Calma Mornings at Lions Park 🤍☕️

Wow, what a day! Today I had the chance to help Misty from
Cinnamon Skies Coffee Co at the Boddington Footy Grand Final, and what an introduction to event trading it was.

Hundreds of coffees later, empty milk bottles everywhere, bags of coffee beans flying out the door, cups stacked up, and both of us trying to grab a bite to eat between the chaos while our own coffees went cold.

And honestly! I loved every minute of it. It was so good to get a glimpse of what my future might look like and experience the pace and energy of a busy event firsthand.

Misty is an absolute powerhouse behind the coffee machine and someone I have so much respect for. Thank you for having me along for the ride today ☕️

Today was a bit of a bittersweet moment.

The coffee machine and gear are finally here, but we discovered the trailer needs an extra part before everything can be properly installed and working. Not quite the progress update I was hoping for, as it now pushes back council approval, coffee practising and potentially my opening day.

But I know this is all part of the process, lots of lessons and a few unexpected hurdles along the way.

On a much more exciting note, HUGE thanks & shoutout to Purri from Frothin Coffee for all the help and guidance so far. I can’t wait to start serving his locally roasted Mandurah beans ☕️🫘

One step closer, even if it’s not quite as planned. ⛅️
