The Australian bushland is my muse. It is the spirit of my country home; the land of the Jinibara, Kabi Kabi, Turrbul people that so inspires me. The tranquillity, the gentle shifts within the stillness, the glimpses through the trees, and the beautiful, earthy pallet.
And even though this vista stands at my doorstep to witness daily, I paint from sensation and memory. It is an emotionally fuelled response to a natural and transient world.
This reel is a visual memoir of the progress of this encaustic painting thus far. It has been raining such a lot. The landscape carries conversations in the swoosh of the winds and pitter patter of the rain in the quieter moments. It is sodden and beautiful, smudged and discreet. I am both lost and alive in capturing the beauty.
