In hospitality, we're lucky to become part of many families.

But every now and then, you get to witness a family cooking together.
PIGING is one of those rare moments.

Next Sunday, 16 August, our latest Sheffy Series brings together four chefs who don't just share kitchens—they share history. They are family. The recipes, techniques and stories have been passed between generations, and for one afternoon they're bringing that connection to the table.

There's something deeply moving about watching people who have grown up cooking together create a meal side by side. It reminds us that food has always been about more than nourishment. It's about heritage, generosity, laughter, tradition and belonging.

At Firecracker, that's exactly why we created the Sheffy Series: to give chefs the opportunity to share not only their food, but the stories behind it. PIGING is an invitation to experience authentic Filipino hospitality through the people who know it best.

Open fire, seasonal produce, and stories gathered from everywhere

For our first edition of our Sheffy Series we sat down with Yona from .kitchen to talk creativity, collaboration, and the inspirations behind the menu.

From foraging and spearfishing around Victoria to drawing influence from flavours across Hawaii, Mexico, and Morocco, Yona’s approach to cooking is grounded in seasonality, curiosity, and connection.

Together with Diana of , this collaboration brings two unique cooking styles together around one table — thoughtful, playful, and deeply rooted in shared experiences.

Featuring dishes like the “Double Dragon” crunchy salad and profiteroles with ice cream because no menu is complete without a little fun.
