Agree!!
Hey google! Any chance you could could remove star ratings 2, 3 and 4 from your review section?
Weโve been noticing for a while that reviews are basically 1 ๐or 5 ๐. Why is this? Well as we see it, customers of businesses are either stoked on what the business did and want to say thanks with a cheeky 5 ๐, or they feel the need to give business a red hot flaming 1 ๐
To those that give businesses a 5 ๐ review for their good work, we commend you! If a business does great work and gives you good service, you should absolutely help them out with a nice review and recommend it to others. We arenโt just saying give out 5 ๐ bogus ratings, but if people do a good job, help them out!
Now to the 1 ๐ gang. In our experience most of these reviews are pretty harsh reviews and often not worthy of 1 ๐Normally the situation may not have went exactly how the customer wanted, but the business has tried to help and resolve the situation as best as possible, but still cop a 1 ๐. The people that work in businesses are human and mistakes happen, thatโs life. But itโs how these things are dealt with after the mistake is the real service. In most occasions, these bad interactions should be a 2 or three ๐ review at worst, but this is never the case, itโs almost always a 1 ๐.
As everyone knows, things are pretty hard at the moment, industries such as hospitality are on the coal face and copping it left right and centre. We are trying our best to serve people, but sometimes s**t goes sideways and mistakes happen. So if this happens, please donโt take to reviews to smoke a small business for a minor issue, itโs probably not the best course of action. Go see them and chat about what happened and they might be able to install practices to improve the interaction for future customers.
So if your local cafe staff are rockstars, give them some love on social media / google. Also tell them how much you appreciate them next time you see them, good chance itโll make them smile. Finding good hospitality staff is bloody hard currently and we need to look after the ones we have. If we donโt have them, thereโs no one making your morning coffee.
Much love
