A chocolate and vanilla vegan cake for a first birthday. I worked with my client to design the cake based on Eric Carle's 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear' story. The book on top is made of fondant with the pages of the story printed inside on wafer paper. The top tier is an ode to one of his other famous stories 'The very hungry caterpillar '.

Wow wow wow. This pretty cake certainly set my heart racing because it was so tall and thin. The actual cake stood 17.5" tall, with the overall height including the stunning topper by Sew Crafty and chocolate shards taking it to 22" tall. It was a 4" wide top tier and 6" tier bottom tier.
The soft pinks, purples and blues with a little shimmer, fondant snowflakes and some stencilling brought it all together.
Luckily the internal structure held up to the half hour car ride.

Last week I made a car cakes, this week is a tram (and next week a truck)!
29 year old Kris works for the Malvern tram depot. His mother in law Mel ordered this chocolate mud cake for him. I took quite a liberties with the design but I think it's still recognisable as a Melbourne tram.
