Last night we had the privilege of hosting the celebration following a powerful few days at the 2026 conference.

To have such an uplifting, collaborative and deeply inspiring group of women from all corners of the world gathered in one place, all driven by a shared commitment to creating meaningful change, was something very special.

The energy, love and passion concentrated in our humble little space will stay with me for a long time.

Footy season is in full flight at the home of women’s sports - The Aviary Hotel! 🏉
While we are an unashamedly a women’s sports bar through and through, we’ve decided to do our bit and carve out some screen time for the fellas this season. We feel it’s important to give the men an opportunity to show what they can do on the big stage.

How is it April tomorrow??! 😮😩

March was a massive month for women’s sports and we loved sharing the highlights with you guys. But as it gets colder the winter sports are just getting started and we can’t wait to showcase them.

Highlights for the month include our Tuesday fun nights, the Wallaroos and the WNBA expansion and regular drafts. Going to be some WILD player movements in the W as the money starts flowing!

Keep a close eye on our stories for the weekly schedule to stay ahead of the game. If there is an event we’ve missed or something you want to see more of, let us know.

Oh, and we bleed black and white so if you love your Collingwood AFLM like we do, we’re your safe and inclusive home to get around the boys - it’s great to see them get an opportunity to play the game they love 😉

HIRING: VENUE MANAGER

The Aviary Hotel is more than a local pub; it’s the home base for The W Club and a dedicated hub for women’s sport in Melbourne. We are looking for an experienced Venue Manager to lead our Abbotsford team.

This role requires a balance of strong leadership and clear commercial focus. We’re after a manager who understands the numbers—specifically P&L and labour targets—but also has the drive to foster a safe, professional, and inclusive community. You’ll be overseeing a busy floor and a high-performing kitchen, so hands-on operational experience is a must.

The Role:

•Lead the operational home of women’s sport.

•Manage margins, labour costs, and overall financial performance.

•Oversee all front-of-house and back-of-house operations.

•Build and maintain a high standard of service and culture.

We are back on Tuesday with another W Club watch party! Come and join the fun - you won’t regret it😉

Punk rock bingo will be on as normal at 6:30PM in the dining room so book via the website and select ‘main dining area’ to join some bingo fenatics🤪 Punk rock bingo ends at 8:30PM so bingo then Tillies? I think so!
