Well, hasn’t Leura turned it on?
Our little village has been metamorphosing into a glorious spring butterfly and, judging by the number of visitors wandering our streets, taking photographs beneath the blossom trees and generally enjoying themselves, it seems our private joy has become a public one.
There is a particular springiness about the place at the moment. Small people are skipping along the footpaths, the doggos are all tails a-wag and even those of us who ought to be getting somewhere are finding reasons to take the long way around.
The GoLlies (Leura Village Association Gardeners) have done us proud, with our gardens looking every inch deserving of that rather splendid title, The Garden Village. A cup in hand and a brisk walk around the block will uncover all manner of botanical treasures, if one knows where to look.
Even our beloved roundabout has donned its new coat of leaves and is looking particularly magnificent amongst the azaleas. One does wonder whether it is aware of the attention it attracts.
It has deserved its moments.
Leura is looking rather lovely, and frankly, it would be bad form not to enjoy it.
Have a happy weekend, everyone.
