MOUNTAIN VIEW HOTEL — WINNER OF OUTSTANDING PUBS & BARS! 🍻
What a night.
Tonight, the Mountain View Hotel was named Outstanding Pubs & Bars at the Cairns Local Business Awards — and to say we’re proud would be a massive understatement.
This one means a lot.
When you pour everything you have into a little country pub — the long days, late nights, constant improvements, the things nobody sees behind the scenes and the occasional “whose bloody idea was it to own a pub?” moment 😂 — a night like tonight makes it all worthwhile.
But this award doesn’t belong to one person.
It belongs to our incredible staff who turn up, work their arses off and help make the Mountain View what it is.
It belongs to our locals, who have backed us through thick and thin.
It belongs to every person who’s stopped in for a cold beer, a feed, a raffle, some live music, a yarn at the bar or a courtesy bus ride home.
And it belongs to everyone who has supported this little pub over its incredible 100-year history.
For a pub established in 1926 to celebrate its centenary in 2026 and then be recognised as the Outstanding Pub & Bar in the Cairns region…
That’s pretty bloody special. ❤️
We’ve always believed the Mountain View is more than just a pub. It’s a meeting place, a watering hole, a piece of local history and, most importantly, part of our community.
We’ve put everything we’ve got into making this place better while never losing what makes the Mountain View the Mountain View.
Tonight was a pretty good reminder that we’re heading in the right direction.
