This is my everything! 🩷
My girl supervisor, living her best life while we continue to build the garden.
This was exactly what I wanted for her, a place to enjoy being with family, in nature and sunshine ☀️
Busy bee with the littles, helping Nan pulling out grass roots 🤪, never going to stop them but making a big dent in them!
Hope I can walk tomorrow 🤣!
Nothing like sending them home a little basket of produce for their help.
Such a wholesome Sunday, with one small prayer that our council would stop spraying glyphosate right out the front door!
And yes I have requested they don’t spray out the front of my place but they still do all around us 😔.
Imagine if we all planted sweet potatoes, flowers and herbs so there is no room for weeds 🙏🌿

Just a few of my little plots, in my small space, there are several more.
I have my little berry patch happening, I am growing strawberries under blueberries, with sweet potato that will be a living mulch, comfrey, passion fruit, peas, rhubarb, nasturtiums, society garlic, Egyptian walking onions, pansy’s and stocks all growing in this little area.
I have put spent mushroom growing medium and compost to all my beds, which will add a sponge like structure to our sandy soil in Gero and nutrients. I also add charged biochar to all my soil, this retains moisture and retains nutrients long term and last but not least rock minerals. I am building my sand to create living soil, which will feed us for years to come. And yes I use all of this in my pots too.
I am slowly filling the beds with soft fall pine wood chips, this will significantly retain the moisture in the dirt, encourage fungal networks in the soil and eventually break down to add more organic matter.
All of my little plots are jammed packed with plants that support each other, it reduces pests and weeds.
My latest plot is grapes, I have planted 2 red globe grape vines which will provide shade for many of my plants in summer.
I have planted more comfrey, for natural food for the grapes, horseradish which will loosen up the soil to make sure it’s well draining for the grapes and it will draw up minerals deep in the soil to feed them, I am slowly filling that plot with annual veg that will not disturb the grapes.
Fruit trees are next!
I am thinking more about the seasons as I grow, I have some Sun Chokes which will also provide shade for the compost and keep the worms cool in summer.
I just keep chipping away as time permits, I have been unwell for weeks now and it finally dawned on me today the probable cause, food related of course, I will soon know if I’m right in the next couple days, still never ceases to amaze me the power of our food and how quickly we recover when we work out triggers. Histamine reactions are powerful and can make us feel so terrible.
Any quiet time I have I spend it going within, the world is changing so rapidly, being a recluse really suits me, right now.
I’ve decided not to fight it and follow the prompts within.
Regenerative practices in my garden are teaching me regenerative practices for my soul. 🩷

Life lately! Missy only made 1.5 days of school before having the rest of the week off.
Poor kid.
So it’s been dinner shopping from the garden, baking and building more garden beds with mushroom compost. Scored a few feeds off the compost, I think they did something to my brain 🤣 I feel like baking again.
I had a moment of what if these aren’t all edible 🍄 so I just ate them, and lived to tell the tale. Now the fam bam is getting oysters mushys with every meal 🤣

From patch to plate in less than 20
Steps, cooked within 10 minutes of picking.
There is something that connects us to our innate state of being.
No sprays, no chemicals just creating micro eco systems that are working in symbiotic relationships.
It’s unquantifiable the times this little patch of mine has improved my mood, moved my body and provided enjoyment.
Planting a garden is a symbol of hope, even better if you can feed your family from it!
In less than 3 months we are largely eating most of our veg from our garden. Can’t wait till spring when it will truly start to produce more variety!
You just gotta start 🩷
Tonight we had:
Bok Choi
Broccoli
Snow peas
Spring Onions
Silver beet
Kale
Coriander 🌿

Rett you cruel bastard, witnessing her slowly losing her mobility weighs so heavy on my heart.
Unlike the first progression of Rett which was swift and sharp, over weeks.
Little bit by little bit her motor skills are declining.
Over the school holidays it becomes more apparent, sort of like a benchmark.
Motor planning challenges increasing and there is not much we can do to stop it… except keep moving. Yesterday 2 hours walking in the pool, looks like nothing to most but for her it’s a safe space she can keep moving for a long time. Out of the pool in unfamiliar places she is lucky to to take 10 steps.
I have moments of thinking I’m not doing enough, ya know parent guilt is alive and well.
If I allow the grief to consume me I would not function at all.
The goal is to keep her happy and lift her spirits however and whenever I can.
She is such a little trooper.
In this pic she was sad, I can feel it when she is, watching all the other kids play.
This morning the sun is shining and she is happy! We grab those moments with both hands with gratitude and a moment of lightness. 🩷

Beautiful bread. Beautiful rain. A garden that’s absolutely bursting with life. 🍞🌧️🥦

A couple of new beds being built.
Lots of seeds directly sown.

Four spelt loaves , the broccoli has finally arrived, the snow peas are taking off, and the brassicas are loving this weather. 🩷

Snail patrol was also in full swing tonight. Eviction notices were issued immediately. 🐌📋😂

Anyone else on snail patrol tonight? 😂
