As we sit and enjoy this gorgeous view and special time of the year where the layers peel off and the sun on our skin feels like heaven, we want to update you on our movements.

We are closed this Mon - Fri (31 Aug to 4 Sept) and but will re-open this Saturday and Sunday 5th and 6th September for those final 2026 season coffees and snacks.

Everest sports will also be open this weekend with some ripper deals, and to get that gear you’ve been eyeing off this season.

Thank you again for the support this season! This was a massive personal undertaking and I’m thrilled with how we have been received.

How lucky are we to be able to ski the south face and hike the north face on the one day? And in this stunning weather as well?!
While walking through the village how many of these amazing art installations will you walk past on your way to windy corner for a coffee and toastie? And continue past us out to the Rocky Valley dam (highest body of water in Australia…)

Unfortunately we are looking at how much longer we are open given wombats is closed and the rain event impacting the XC trails.
We have committed until Sunday 30th August and after that we will reassess.
Our poor luck is your gain, as we have some awesome sales!!!

Good morning my little monsters!

Yesterday this lovely bloke came in and said “oh man I should have come here for breakfast, all I wanted was a bacon and egg roll”. Anyway after a chat he told me that where they did end up eating the server told him “good luck finding a bacon and egg roll on this mountain!!” Well… at pique cafe in windy corner we have exactly that, the classic bacon and egg roll with cheese and BBQ sauce!
If I knew where it was, don’t worry I’d be naming and shaming you…

So this post is to encourage you monsters to get out and about, see what other places have to offer to improve the whole mountain experience for our guests. Maybe even come try our bacon and egg and let that good luck rain on you for the whole day!

Ok so we all know what the weather looks like today… and we are all getting a little skeptical about the next few weeks.

I’m gonna level with you, we probably have too much food left in the cafe. Call it first year ordering issues, or just naive optimism.

Anyway come help a gal out and get yourself a toastie and coffee to warm up and dry off (today and any day from here). We are open and friendly from 8am

Toastie flavours:
Chicken and bacon (Nathan’s favourite)
Chicken cheese and guacamole (Sam’s favourite)
Breakfast - bacon, egg, bbq and cheese (classic)
Triple cheese and tomato relish (fan favourite! The relish makes it addictive, I swear)

As we all start to think about what the next few months of adventure look like, remember to take some fabulous local coffee with you when you finish up your Falls creek season.

We have retail beans of the infamous (almost cult following) sixpence coffee!

After the amount of compliments we have had this season on this coffee, we know you want to take it home with you.

It’s a gorgeous day for a walk!

Today’s weather Pairing is to come walk to windy corner, get yourself some lunch and a cold drink.

We are here everyday from 8am 🫶🏻

Ps we all survived our first hoppet. The team did so well they sent Sam home to rest.

Apologies for the radio silence, we have been busy!!!

A few quick reflections from halfway through our first season:
- we have received multiple compliments on our coffee (thank you sixpence) including “this is the best coffee I’ve had for a long time” 🙏❤️
- we have been asked to bring back menu items that existed between 3 and 7 years ago 🤨🤯
- outside of children, grown men seem to be the biggest fans of our snowmen marshmallows and I’ve had requests for them on all sorts of coffees (yep with cappuccinos)
- we have gone through more than 5kg of snowmen marshmallows!!! ☃️
- pique is not as commonly known as I thought, we have been pronounced “P-Q” more times than “peak” 😆🤪
- the days I have soup on, I won’t get asked for any. The days I don’t cook soup, we will get lots of requests for soup. Is this Murphy’s law? Or someone’s law??
- we have had some amazing humans through, lots of incredible moments and conversations and bonding over a shared love of coffee ☕️ which has truly been a delightful cup filling (pun intended) exercise! And whilst it’s been busy, it’s been amazing getting to serve each of you and hear about your adventures and what’s happening in each day.

So, today’s weather pairing is soup!! Will I cook one or not?! Come prove or disprove my theory.
