As we are just one month from the EKKA 2026, Mercy & Mummy thought it would be fun and enlightening to share our Companion showing, which all started in 2010! 😊 Our first EKKA was 2010, when Whiskers sponsored the show. We took Mr Mistofellees who won Reserve 😊 In 2011, we took Mercy and Mr Mistofellees, to show in the Companion ring 😊 To our absolute delight & joy, tears of happiness, Mercy won Supreme Companion EKKA 2011! 😊 I remember how she literally climbed up to cuddle the Judge Lesley Morgan. Lesley proceeded to pull out the ‘rule’ book to explain to the audience that the Companion judging is pretty much based on temperament, cleanliness and health, and Mercy certainly showed how affectionate she is, even at less than 1 year of age then. 😊😊 Mercy’s win, literally started us on the journey of showing Companion cats, Russians and other breeds we had been greeding. Every year, we show at the EKKA and love every moment. 😊 In recent years, we have been sponsoring the 2 rings with rosettes and the trophy! This year there are 3 rings and Mercy Miracle Manx is sponsoring a ring and the Supreme trophy! 😊 We are all excited about the EKKA and in celebration, Mercy & Mummy had a photo-shoot (thanks Daddy), with her rosette and we dressed the part to match the colours 😊 😊 😊 Mercy then from 2011, became quite instrumental in many ways for us being part of the cat fancy. If it wasn’t for her exciting win, to encourage us to show, we would not be where we are today! 😊 We made friends with many competitors and so many Facebook friends. Including the previous owner of Capalaba Cat Cottage, Marisa, whom, we did not know before this. One day we saw a post that Marisa and husband Garry were selling the Cottage 😊 the rest is history! 😊 So, you just don’t know what little or big moments in your life, can have such incredible impacts. From Mercy being born in Mike’s vet surgery, from a caesarean, 100% hand raised, bottle fed and loved, to her having momentous influence on our lives! 😊 Obviously, all this was meant to be and planned by God 😊 Enjoy our photos and celebration of beautiful cats and life 😊 xoxo
