Last Sunday, groups from across Naarm participated in a large meeting of local radical and left political organisations that was representative and diverse.
The meeting passed the following statement, agreeing on unity in confronting the fascist street movement and supporting Camp Sovereignty.
We are initiating a broad anti-fascist and anti-racist united front, beginning with a committee that will organise for 13 September in support of the Indigenous National Day of Action.
This is a major step for Naarm-based organising. We are proud to see commitment to coalitional organising, now we must work together to ensure we enact our agreements in struggle.
This way, we have the strength to also challenge liberal forces who have failed to put forward an anti-racism that wins.
Struggle until victory!

We’ve compiled the final accounts and in the spirit of transparency, we wanted to share an overview of what funds we raised, and what we spent, in putting on the Convergence.

Thanks to everyone who donated to help make the Convergence on Canberra the massive success it was.

Thanks you also to all the groups who raised their own funds to put on busses or helped get people there, and those that funded their own way.

Last but not least, thanks to every single one of you for turning up every week for Palestine. In Canberra, in major cities, in regional centres and or online, we must continue the fight for sanctions on Israel, an end to the genocide, and a free Palestine.

We’ve had a couple of updates to our amazing lineup of speakers for today.

Join us at 10.00am on the lawns of parliament.

As the 48th parliament begins its term we are gathering to demand that Australia sanction Israel now. We’re going to make it very loud and clear for them, we will accept nothing less!

Remember, we are NOT marching today, instead the rally will end with a smoking ceremony for everyone. The weather looks a little dodgy, so don’t forget those raincoats and umbrellas! Lastly, it will be a big day, so please pack lunch or some snacks to keep you going.

IMPORTANT INFO AHEAD OF TOMORROWS RALLY

- It will be a big day. There is no easily accessible food near the rally please bring lunch or snacks!
- It looks like it will rain tomorrow. Please be prepared. We will rally rain or shine!
- Bring warm clothes, your keffiyehs, flags and banners.
- There will be a ‘ceremonial’ gun salute to commemorate the opening of parliament. This will happen some time after 3.00pm. While we plan for the rally to be finished by then we are not in control of the timing. We encourage those who may be affected by the gun fire to be aware and make plans in accordance with their needs.

WE WILL NOT BE MARCHING.
Our message is for the MPs and senators in the Australian parliament. We need to make sure they hear us loud and clear - SANCTION ISRAEL NOW

RALLY SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Announcing our HUGE line up of speakers for Tuesdays rally at the opening of the 48th parliament.

We need to make sure that, as our freshly elected politicians are being sworn in for the next term, they hear our demands loud and clear. The Labor government must commit to real action to end the genocide in Gaza and to SANCTION ISRAEL NOW.
