We’re firing up the smoker again at The Grounds Collective Bucasia for another low ’n’ slow session — 24hr smoked brisket, beef ribs, burgers, loaded fries and stacked share platters with the lot (perfect for picnics).

Absolute only-in-Queensland moment: a couple of surfers off Mackay ended up “catching” a giant barramundi… with their bare hands while they were out getting waves.

According to the story, the barra basically collided with the fin on their mate’s board and got dazed, so one of the boys grabbed it by the tail and hauled it up onto the board — and only then realised how massive it was.

They’re calling it a “barraconda” (fair) and reckon the recent heavy rain may have flushed it out from an estuary into the sea. After the photos, they revived it and released it.
