Food vans in Broome have been losing trading locations over the past couple of years. Including no longer being permitted to trade in the cable beach precinct, other than evenings at the surf club.
We welcome you all to have your say with the shire in helping the Broome food van community to expand locations, and share any ideas you might have in regard to where you would like to see your favourite local vendors set up.
As Broome grows, itβs important that our public spaces work for everyone ππ΄
Council has endorsed updates to the Trading in Public Places Policy to create clear and consistent trading opportunities across Broome, while balancing the needs of mobile traders, local businesses, residents and visitors, and ensuring our shared spaces remain safe, accessible and enjoyable.
As part of these updates, the Shire is seeking community feedback on a proposal to introduce trading opportunities at four neighbourhood parks:
π Cygnet Park
π Sugar Glider Park
π Tanami Park
π Hin Park
Community feedback will help Council determine whether to proceed with trading opportunities at these locations.
Complete the short survey by 14 August to have your say.
