Gourmet Toastmasters had a fun packed Christmas meeting last night as we enjoyed fabulous speeches and a Thai Banquet.

We also had a visit from Santa!

A brilliant and fun packed meeting was held on Tuesday about "Thinking on the spot". Lots of helpful content, 3 enjoyable speeches and plenty of opportunities to refine our impromptu speaking skills.

Next meeting is on November 9th. Don't miss it!

Another enjoyable meeting last night as we held our Humorous and Table Topics Contests.

Congrats to Kim (1st Humorous) Aaron (1st Table Topics).

Today is "I am a Toastmaster Day"!
To celebrate the occasion, our district leadership team requests all our members to share:
ONE (only one) THING THEY HAVE LEARNT AT TOASTMASTERS.

One thing I have learnt is to always go the long way.
If you're asked to come forward for an impromptu speech (e.g. as part of table topics) and you find yourself not knowing how to answer the question, then always go the long way around the table, chairs or people. This will buy you a few extra valuable seconds to think about your answer.

By learning to effectively formulate and express your ideas, you open an entirely new world of possibilities. You’ll improve your interpersonal communication and be more persuasive and confident when giving speeches.
