Bribie Printmakers "Appropriate'' exhibition shows how clever and imaginative this group is.
Paying tributeto master Pintmaker and teacher Jim Aitkenhead, this exhibition sings. Stylish, smart, different and a loving tribute to a much admired artist. There are prints and 3D works styled with precision and care, telling a wide range of stories.

Printmaking remains a mystery to some looking on from outside the art world.
There'll be printmakers in the Gallery here at Island Community Arts Centre during this exhibition to show and tell their craft.
Don't miss it ... on til October 11.

Great Repair Cafe today here at Bribie Island Community Arts Centre.
Menders Bernice, Jeanine, Lyn, John, Kim, Steve, Robert, John, Peter and John handled 28 repairs in total, brought in by 20 visitors,
About 80 percent of these were successfully fixed.

Watch/clock repairer Robert brought tears to the eyes of one grateful visitor when he got her old family music box singing again.
Kim and Steve fixed a treasured doll's broken leg, Lyn revived a chipped ornate photo frame, Bernice and Jeanette repaired hems, rips, snags and replaced buttons and the two Johns each worked on clock and wooden toy respectively, with pleasing results.

This was only our second Repair Cafe meet and we are thrilled with the community response and interest.
A great sense of community and friendship was present in the Centre Boardroom and adjoining covered patio.

Thanks Alana, Alma and Paul for your great admin work here.
Thanks also to Lions Club of Bribie for your support.

Next meeting here is Friday October 23, 10am - 12.30.
