From My Hands to Your Plate — A Story of Love, Strength & New Beginnings
Hi, I’m Hend.
Most people know me as the woman behind Yasmina Food Truck the one serving hot shawarma wraps, crispy falafel, and food that feels like a warm hug. But before this truck, before this life… I was just a mother with a dream and two little girls holding my hands.
Everything I have built started with them.
As a mother, you don’t think in terms of “what if I fail?” you think, “how do I make this work?” That’s exactly how this journey began. I didn’t have a big plan, just a strong belief that I could create something of my own. Something honest. Something meaningful.
Cooking has always been a part of me. The recipes I use today are not just recipes they are memories from my home in Syria. The spices, the flavors, the way the shawarma is wrapped, the crispiness of falafel everything carries a piece of where I come from.
When I started my food truck, it wasn’t about building a brand.
It was about building a life.
I still remember the first few days setting up, preparing everything from scratch, and hoping people would stop by. And they did. One by one, people came, tried the food, smiled, and came back again. That’s when I realized food connects hearts before anything else.
Today, my daughters are a part of this journey too. You’ll often find them around — sometimes helping me, sometimes posing for pictures, sometimes just being kids. They remind me every day why I started.
This food truck is not just my work.
It is my story.
To every woman out there who is trying to build something of her own, whether it’s a business, a dream, or a new path I want to say this:
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You just need to start.
Start with what you know.
Start with what you love.
And trust that you will grow along the way.
I started with flavors from my home and a heart full of hope.
Today, I stand here serving not just food, but a piece of my journey.
And this is only the beginning. 💛
