I might had a little too much fun with this one:  real people vs influencer: coffee drinking edition   Our Nutty Nib has new beans. It comes from a collective of around 40 small and mid-sized farms in the São José do Rio Pardo region of Brazil. A traditional Brazilian coffee, the kind we all know and love – maximum sweetness, low acidity, deeply chocolatey and nutty.
 Producer: 40 smallholder farmers from the region
Origin: São José do Rio Pardo, São Paulo, Brazil
Variety: Arabica Blend
Altitude: 900–1,000 MASL

RIP EU-wide shipping.
If you’re outside Austria, Germany, Italy, France or the Netherlands: Monday 10 August is your last day to order. I’ll ship by Tuesday 11 August at the latest.

Why: from 12 August, the new EU packaging regulation (PPWR) requires every business shipping into another EU country to appoint an authorised representative there — one per country, roughly €300 a year each, on top of the packaging fees. For a big brand that’s a rounding error. For a one-woman roastery, it’s simply not affordable.

PS I am sure the benefiter of this regulation will be lawyers and their bots scraping the internet.

But joke aside spending these days with other roasters and coffee professionals - cupping side by side, discussing notes, asking each other the questions we usually sit with alone - was something special.

Everyone came with their own perspective, and everyone left having learned from each other.

You arrive for the coffee, and you leave with a community.

The Fermentation Project bags arrived today! 📦🎉

Yes, we’re making a caffeinated exception for this special project by James Hoffmann James Hoffmann & Lucia Solis Lucia Solis .

After The Decaf Project (unforgettable, crazy, and honestly pretty exhausting) we simply couldn’t say no. Also because Fermentation Specialist Lucia Solis is part of it – and I’m a total fan girl! 💛

This time it’s one coffee from Guatemala with four different fermentations. Great if you want to better understand the impact fermentation has on taste – a fun experiment I’m personally really looking forward to. And this time we’ll roast on the Roest P3000 ROEST | Coffee Roasting Technology , which will make my life so much easier. 😅

That’s a wrap on our first ever World of Coffee!💗

Three days, one pink booth, a heat wave, way too little sleep – and every second worth it. We brewed, we cupped, we (re-)connected, we tattooed, and sold out of... basically everything 🤯

Watching people taste through the line-up and go “wait, this is decaf?” never gets old.
